Note: This marks the beginning of the main plot of the story. 🌙
If you haven't read the previous chapters yet, I truly recommend doing so — they'll help you understand the emotions and connections that unfold here.
It might feel a little confusing at first, but stay with it... everything will make sense as you read on. And just a small reassurance — this story does have a happy ending, so don't worry. 💫-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The soft sunlight streamed through the white curtains, kissing the edges of the freshly unpacked suitcases that lay near the bed. The faint scent of the sea still lingered in the room — a reminder of the peaceful days they'd just spent in Goa.
Anupamaa stirred gently under the sheets, her hand automatically sliding to the empty space beside her. It was warm. He had just left the bed.
Her sleepy eyes fluttered open — and there he was.
Anuj stood near the balcony, shirt unbuttoned halfway, coffee mug in hand, lost somewhere between thought and love. The morning breeze ruffled his hair as he looked outside — but his eyes weren't really seeing the view. They were waiting for her.
Anu smiled softly, watching him from behind — the same man who still treated her like the most precious thing in his universe.
She slipped out of bed, adjusting her dupatta. Before she could call him, he turned — as though her heartbeat had summoned him.
Anuj: "Careful yaar Anu... please... dekh ke chala karo..."
She raised an eyebrow, amused. "Ab kya hua? Maine toh bas bed se utar ke do kadam hi liye!"
He placed the mug down and walked to her, his expression half worried, half playful.
Anuj: "Do kadam bhi sambhal ke chalne chahiye... You are pregnant now, remember? Thoda toh khayal rakho..."
Anupamaa (pouting lightly): "Arre ohh hoo, Anuj! Bas bhi kijiye! Pregnant hoon, bimaar nahi hoon main!"
Anuj: "Haan haan, mujhe maloom hai, Superwoman ho tum. Par mujhe thoda allowed hai na concern karne?"
Anu laughed, that familiar laugh that made his heart melt. "Allowed hai, par overdose nahi!"
He smiled — that shy, boyish smile she'd fallen for a hundred times over.
Anuj: "Theek hai... par ek kaam karte hain — aaj hi doctor ke paas chalte hain. Kal hi Goa se aaye hain, toh personally mil lete hain. Confirm kar lete hain sab kuch normal hai."
Anupamaa nodded gently. "Theek hai... aur aapka appointment bhi hai na? Thank God dono ek hi jagah par hain... warna mujhe chakkar lagane padte hospital ke."
Anuj chuckled. "Mera appointment 12 o'clock ka hai. Pehle hum tumhara kar lenge. Ok, baby?"
Anu blushed slightly at the way he said "baby."
Anupamaa: "Theek hai, ready hojati hoon."
But before she could walk away, he softly said, "Wait..."
She turned.
Anuj took slow steps toward her. His eyes softened. Then, without another word, he knelt before her — right there on the sunlit floor — and gently held her hands.
Her breath hitched.
He placed his head against her belly, closed his eyes, and whispered with a tenderness that could melt the heavens:
Anuj: "My baby... sabko good morning keh diya maine... par tujhe nahi... not fair na? Good morning, my little bub... Papa and Mumma love you..."
He kissed her gently, right there, his voice trembling with awe.
