Precap: Wrapped in each other's warmth, skin to skin, soul to soul, they drifted into the kind of sleep only true peace can bring—hearts full, bodies tired, and love finally unspoken yet understood.
---------------------------------------------------
It was well past midnight when Anuj and Anupamaa had finally drifted into slumber, exhausted yet blissful after their night of love. By the time dawn arrived, the room was still heavy with the scent of roses and jasmine, the memories of passion lingering in every corner.
Anupamaa stirred first. Normally, her body was tuned to wake at 4 a.m., a habit she had carried since girlhood. But today was different—her body was tired, yet her heart was still fluttering from the memories of the night. She blinked her eyes open at 8 a.m. and the very first sight that greeted her was her Anuj.
He lay beside her, still lost in sleep, his face glowing with a calm satisfaction she had never seen before. Her blush deepened as the images of the night replayed in her mind—how he had broken down her walls, how he had coaxed her unguarded self into the open, how he had worshipped her like she was his very breath.
She shifted slightly, only to realize that his strong arm was still wrapped tightly around her bare waist, holding her to him even in sleep. She tried to wriggle free, but his grip was too secure. Instead, she paused and simply looked at him.
"Yeh insaan ek taraf toh itna innocent bachche jaisa lagthe hai... aur doosri taraf... raat ko..." she thought, her lips curving into a shy smile. How could someone look so much like a baby boy in sleep, yet so devastatingly masculine and irresistible at night?
Unable to resist, she leaned in and kissed his cute nose softly. He stirred just a little, sighing contentedly, but didn't wake. Giggling to herself, she carefully slipped out of his embrace.
Before walking away, her gaze fell on the tattoo inked over his chest. She bent down, brushed her lips gently against it, and whispered, "Kitna cute chokro che..." Her heart swelled as she threw him a flying kiss, carrying the image of him peacefully sleeping into the washroom.
By the time she returned, freshened and dressed, Anuj was still asleep, sprawled in the bed like a man who had finally received everything he had ever longed for. Anupamaa's eyes wandered around the room, which had been beautifully decorated. She chuckled softly, realizing how it had gone unused—their night had shifted entirely to the surprise she had set up in the private garden.
Then her eyes fell on a neat stack of Anuj's belongings, clearly arranged with care. She noticed his essentials—his favorite pen, a few scattered papers, and a diary with the word "DREAMS" embossed on it.
Curiosity tugged at her. She picked it up, running her fingers over the cover. "Sapne..." she murmured to herself. What dreams could a man like Anuj Kapadia possibly have, a man who could buy anything the world had to offer?
She smiled knowingly. "Mera naam toh zaroor hoga ismein..." she thought, her heart fluttering.
Anupamaa turned the diary gently in her hands. The pages looked worn, some edges frayed, yet carefully preserved. She noticed the spiral binding—clearly, this wasn't a store-bought diary. He had collected loose sheets, written his heart out on them, then had them bound together so he could keep adding pages whenever he wished. "Smart chokro che..." she thought, a smile tugging her lips.
Curiosity pulled her in deeper. She flipped open to the very first page.
"Hello Diary, this is my first day after I came out of coma. People here are too good... but I regret it. I shouldn't have gotten into that fight that day. I scared my mom and dad, made them panic with the mess I created. But how could I stand still? He was preparing to harass Anupamaa... and I couldn't let that happen. Thankfully, she didn't come to college that day. Bunty told me she had some personal work. I have to ask Devika what all happened after I was attacked. Those bastards... they couldn't face me one-on-one. They struck me from behind. Anupamaa hasn't been attending college since then. What really happened...?"
