After all the wedding planning was wrapped up, Anu was supposed to stay back at KantaMaa's house until her marriage. Anuj was not happy with this decision at all. However, Anu wouldn't have chosen to stay at his place either, especially now that Mukku was back, and there was no room for her.

As Anuj, GK kaka, Mukku, and Anurag were about to leave, Anu managed to come up with a small excuse, trying to get a little more time with Anuj before he left. It was difficult, but she finally managed to pull him into the kitchen, away from everyone else.

"Aap, bas ek minute rukiye," she said, her voice gentle yet filled with a hidden plea.

Anuj, sensing something was different in her tone, gave her a curious look. "Kya baat hai, Anu? Kyun rukhwa rahi ho?"

She took a deep breath before speaking, trying to keep her composure. "Bas aap se kuch kehna chahti thi... Main aapko bhi miss karungi, aapko pata hai na? Par mujhe yahan rehna padega Anuj. Mujhe dono taraf ke functions mein hona hai, ladki wale aur ladke wale dono mein. Aap samajh rahe ho na?"

Anuj smiled softly, his heart aching. "Main tumhe itna miss karunga, Anu. Pata nahi kaise yeh din guzarenge tumhe bina dekhe."

Anu placed a hand on his arm, looking up at him with an almost teasing expression. "Hum milte rahenge, Aap fikar mat karo. Hum office mein aur baaki preparations mein milenge. Aap dekho, aap itne busy ho jaoge ke aapko meri yaad hi nahi aayegi."

Anuj chuckled, his eyes darkening with a mischievous gleam. "Main tumhe itna miss karunga, Anu, ki main bas khidki se kudke tumse milne aaunga, jaise films mein hota hai."

Anu gasped, her eyes widening in mock horror. "Nahi, Aap! aisa nahi kar sakte!" She laughed, her cheeks turning a soft pink. "Aap koi film mein nahi ho! Aur waise bhi, hum office mein aur baaki preparations mein milenge, toh aapko itna miss nahi karna padega."

Her voice was sweet but laced with something more, a playful promise that lingered between them.

Anuj's gaze deepened as he closed the distance between them, his breath warm against her ear. "Main koi tareeka dhoondhunga, Anu, jisse main tumhe miss na karoon... chahe iske liye mujhe kuch thoda dramatic karna pade."

Her heart raced, and she looked at him, fighting the butterflies that erupted inside her. "Bas theek hai, Aap," she whispered, her voice teasing but with a hint of vulnerability.

They stood there for a moment, the world around them fading as they shared a connection that was too deep, too intense to ignore.

"Thik hai," Anu said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Par khidki se kudna mat, theek hai?"

Anuj smirked, brushing a lock of hair from her face. "No promises," he replied with a wink, his lips dangerously close to hers.

For a moment, Anu felt herself leaning in, almost unable to resist him. But with a slight chuckle and a gentle push, she pulled herself away. "Unbelievable, yaar," she said with a teasing smile, her eyes still sparkling.

He sighed dramatically. "But you like it.."

She smiled, knowing that the teasing was just the beginning of something far deeper between them.

After the laughter-filled evening, Anuj reluctantly excused himself. Before leaving, he gently informed Anupamaa, "Kal subah office ke liye tayar rehna... mei aake pick up karunga... theek hai... " his tone tinged with reluctance, though he tried to mask it with a smile. Anupamaa nodded, her expression soft, sensing the unspoken emotion in his voice. She waved him off with a reassuring smile, though her heart felt a pang at his departure.

When Anuj returned home, the house felt unusually quiet. He sat on the couch, staring at nothing in particular, already missing his Annu. Every corner of the room seemed to echo her laughter, her voice, and her presence. Even the bouquet of roses he had carried earlier now felt like a reminder of the warmth she brought into his life.
