"Has anyone seen my binoculars?!" Aeri yells out for the entire cabin to hear as she hastily rummaged through her trunk. The sound of her stuff clanking around, her head deep into the trunk looking for her precious binoculars.
It had exactly been a week since her last project. A week days since her success on Renjun and Jaeyoung's relationship. A week has gone by and though her last project's relationship continued to flourish, she still hasn't found her next project to work on.
"It's on top of your bed, dummy." One of her sibling's pointed out upon passing by. Aeri instantly looked up, seeing the rose gold binoculars perfectly sitting on top of her bed.
Right, I knew that. She thought to herself. Standing up and grabbing her binoculars before making her way out of the cabin. She made her way through the camp, passing by people who she tried to assess for any potential that she could turn into another success.
The thing with some of the campers, they weren't really much friendly with others. Though the modern age has come, still, there has been a sort of rivalry going around that made it difficult for Aeri match people up. However, despite the difficulty, she somehow finds a way to make things work and in the end people would still stop by the Aphrodite cabin for some love advice, to which Aeri would happily give.
With her binoculars in hand, she lifts it up to her eye level, scanning the perimeter for any possible matches. Her ray of vision falls onto the training field where she spots Sion sparring with whom she could recall as Riku, a son of Poseidon.
And as if a light bulb lit up on top of her head, she makes her way towards them, dropping her binoculars and letting it hand around her neck with it slightly swaying as she took big steps on the grass field.
A thud sounded lightly within the sparring range as Riku falls back after Sion had charged him with the wooden sword he held. His bangs falling down, shading him slightly from the bright sun that cast upon them, Riku smirks a bit at his loss. Meanwhile, Sion grins proudly, staring down at the Poseidon kid. He was about to say something when they heard footsteps making them turn their heads to where the sound was coming from. There weren't any other kids sparring with them so maybe someone wanted to join in, at least that's what they initially thought.
The proud smile Sion was wearing instantly faded as soon as he saw Aeri's face. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be spying on people, or something."
Aeri huffed at his tone. She didn't know why Sion was so against her matchmaking projects and why Sion enjoyed picking on her. No other Zeus kid even bothered to give a damn about her. She even helped a few Zeus kids with their own lovelife, so what was the big deal? She didn't really understand.
"I'm not here for you." She clarified before looking over at Riku who had stood up from his fall earlier. A grin plastered on her face, "Do you have a crush?"
Sion, baffled by her question, scoffed and placed a hand on her shoulder, gently pushing her back. "Aeri, you don't go around asking people who their crush is. Besides, you two aren't even close for him to disclose something as personal as that!"
Sion had a point there. But Aeri had seen Riku before, not a lot of times though but she swore she could recall him staring at a certain Aphrodite kid. It was way back when some of the campers gathered at the camp's amphitheater and Aeri caught Riku glancing their way. Aeri was with some of her sisters and that's when she felt a tingle. The same tingle she felt in the beginning of her other projects.
Despite Sion's attempts to shoo Aeri away, Riku stands firm and gives her a smile. "It's about time you asked me."
Sion quickly shot the Poseidon kid a look. Riku had been one of his favorite sparring partner. When Riku first joined the camp, Sion was one of the first campers he met whom gladly became his constant sparring buddy. However, despite having shared their interests, Sion never heard of any crushes from Riku. He was for certain that he didn't have any.
"I do sort of need some love advice." Riku said shyly, his hand going up to rub his nape, avoiding eye contact with the girl. "You see, there's this girl I've been—well—how do I say this... I've been observing her at least for awhile now and there's just something about her that makes my heart beat fast."
"Uh-huh, I'm listening."
"Now where did you get that?" Sion questions the Aphrodite kid, watching her scribble down some notes in her pink notebook that she somehow had with her all along.
"Shh, Riku's talking!" She rebuked making Sion raise his hand in defeat.
"I don't really want to rush into a relationship now, but I just need some advice, I guess on how to approach her and like... talk to her more."
When Aeri figured that Riku wasn't gonna speak more, she closes her pink notebook and tilted her head a bit to the side. "Well... May I know who this person is?"
Riku glances at Sion for a split second, his jaw clenching a bit as he forced a smile up his face. He shook his head, "I'd like to keep it private for now. I want her to be the first to know that I like her."
Aeri felt another tingle. She didn't know Riku was such a private person and neither did Sion. He felt a little betrayed that he knew nothing about this but who was he for Riku to share such precious information to? He was just his sparring buddy, it wasn't like they had a deeper connection that allowed Riku to tell him about his lovelife—but still, shouldn't he at least know after a year of spending time with him?
"That's so cute of you!" Aeri exclaimed, clasping her hands together. "Well, all I can say for now is you have to have a little more courage! Try approaching her day by day—"
"Wouldn't she be weirded out why all of sudden I'm talking to her?"
Aeri pursed her lips, thinking about it. "Maybe a little! But we all start somewhere. You could try approaching her and talking to her about something you two have in common!"
A big smile stretches across Riku's face upon the girl's love advice, nodding as he gives her a thumbs up. "Got it!"
Sion rolled his eyes at the sight of the two. "Yeah, love advice time is now over! Could you please go now? You interrupted our training."
Aeri ignored Sion's comment and smiled back at Riku. "You can always stop by at the Aphrodite cabin for any more love advice, Riku! I'll get going now, see you around!" She waves at him before glancing at Sion, one of his eyebrows raised as he looked at her expectantly. "Not you." She muttered before walking away leaving a dumbfounded Sion and a smiling Riku.
