❛ the green monster in their stomachs ❜▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Aeri wasn't one to get easily sick. And frankly, it had been years since the last time she had fallen ill; however, due to getting drenched in the rain a day ago, Aeri finds herself perched on one of the white beds at the infirmary. Normally, Jaemin or Seri would take care of her but due to her high body temperature, they insisted on bringing her to the infirmary for extra care. Despite Aeri being mostly immune to getting sick, whenever she does get sick it feels like the whole world was falling down on her.
She felt like she was being trapped in a haze of discomfort as she felt chills trickle down her spine. Her head was heavy as though it's being weighed down by a ton as her surroundings felt colder than usual in contrast to the heat rising in her skin. Every movement, even the smallest, feels like a monumental effort. Aeri felt like she was dying which seemed kind of ironic to her considering she had a near-death experience just a day ago.
Her mind was a fuzz as she struggle to keep focus, her gaze remained steady on the lighting fixture above, eyeing it as if it was the most interesting thing she has ever seen in her life when in reality she couldn't lift her head or even a single muscle. She could hear the faint sound of the door opening followed by loud chatters of a group of people. She couldn't tell whether they were normally talking or arguing but they were definitely loud. Maybe even too loud for her liking as she screwed her eyes shut, trying to tune out the voices that were gradually getting louder.
"Guys seriously, now is not the time to visit her—"
"And who are you to tell us that?"
"Apparently, the camp's head healer."
"Okay, camp's head healer, let us see Aeri."
There were a couple more disputes before the curtains that separated her bed from the others slid open, allowing more light to pass through earning a heavy groan from the girl. Weakly pulling the white sheet of a blanket over her face, she spoke out with a rasp voice. "Hanbin! The light, it's burning my eyes."
Hanbin rolled his eyes before nudging the three boys closer inside to the bed so that he could slide the curtain halfway to cover her from the main light. "Need I remind you, Aeri? You're a demigod, not a vampire."
Aeri huffed under the blanket, slightly cringing at how hot the air seemed that came out of her nose. She slowly brings down the blanket, eyes blinking as she adjusted to the light of the room. She moved her head a little bit to the side, seeing no other than Sion, Riku, and Yushi peering down at her in worry. She couldn't help but chuckle though her short laughter turned into a series of coughs to which she shielded them away by cupping her mouth.
"What are they doing here?" Aeri questioned the child of Apollo who smirked in response, his hand reaching up to caress the top of her head. Her question struck the boys like lightning, their brows furrowing as Sion couldn't help but eye the hand on top of her head. The girl didn't really seem like she was in good condition and Yushi thought that maybe they should have at least visited her when she was feeling much better—it honestly felt like they were intruding her personal space right now.
