❛ does he never shut up? ❜▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Aeri could only think of one place Yushi would go to at this time. As the dark sky hangs above her, she rushes towards the Athena cabin, not even bothering to knock as she waltzes in, gaining a few stares from the Athena kids present by the entryway.
The Aphrodite kid makes her way through the cabin, trying to spot a certain black-haired boy. As she got deeper into the cabin, she bumped into Renjun who looked at her in surprise.
"A–Aeri?"
"Renjun! Have you seen—"
"He's at the farthest table to the right." Renjun cuts her off, patting her back. "Good luck, I've never seen him so upset before." With Renjun's words in mind, Aeri couldn't help but feel even worse knowing that she was the reason why he was so upset.
Aeri sucked in some breath, quietly going through the little hallway through the numerous bookshelves. She finds Yushi with his back facing hers and his head down on the table. Slowly, she creeps up beside him and with a shaky hand, she taps on his shoulder making the boy shift in his spot, raising his head in confusion. They make eye contact and Aeri could feel her heart tightening the longer she stared back at him. His eyes were red and it looked like he had been crying previously. His brows instantly knitted together as he looked away, afraid that he might give in to her when he was supposed to be upset.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned in a gruff tone, his bottom lip jutting out a bit as he pouted.
"I'm here to say sorry, Yushi," Aeri said softly, her hand still on his shoulder as she tried to make him face her but the boy shook his head, still looking away. "I'm sorry, Yushi. I'm really sorry. I lost track of time and— I feel really really bad. I know what I did was disappointing and hurtful for you. You have every right to be upset."
"I waited for an hour and a half, Aeri," Yushi said, his voice almost like a whisper. He finally turns to face her, his slightly puffy eyes making Aeri's frown deepen. "I waited but you never came. It felt like I was forgotten for a moment."
"I'm really sorry, Yushi." Aeri pouts, "I was going to come despite being late but when I got there, they told me you were gone. If you're open to it, I'd love to make it up to you by rescheduling—"
"I don't want to reschedule." Yushi shakes his head and the girl can feel her heart begin to crack. He seemed unfazed by her apology though the truth was deep inside he was still hurting. When the boy didn't say anything else, Aeri was about to get on her knees when Yushi held her back, grabbing onto her shoulders. "Don't kneel, please. I accept your apology, it's just that... please don't ever do that again. You know what it's like to get stood up by someone, it's not a nice feeling, right?"
