❛ what if i just quit matchmaking? ❜▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
The mission to find Riku's match ended as quick as it had started.
It had been a week. A week since she properly got outside to go matchmaking. Some of the campers were starting to get a little worried upon noticing her lack of presence around the campsite. She would usually loiter around, bothering everyone she could see but at the moment she didn't feel like it. Ever since she couldn't find a match for Yushi, everything went spiraling down for her. Not that she ever told the boy that she couldn't find his match which is why she had been hiding in her room for six days now.
"Aeri, seriously, you have to get up." Jaemin ushered, trying to pull her up from her bed but the red-haired girl refuses to budge, snuggling closer to her pillows.
"I don't want to get up." She whines, though her voice muffled by the thick blanket that covered her.
"You have to at least do something. You can't just mope around just because you can't find a boy his match— are you seriously giving up?" Jaemin questioned the girl who visibly nods her head under the blanket.
"What if I just quit matchmaking?"
Jaemin freezes at her suggestion, though it seemed like the girl was joking (he hoped she was), he couldn't help but feel a little bad for the girl. Matchmaking had always been her thing for years now and to think that she's quitting over some boy who can't find his match? Ridiculous!
"You won't do that. You love matchmaking."
"Yeah, but at the moment it's quite a pain in the ass." She huffs and sits up, suddenly feeling drowsy. Maybe staying indoors for a week wasn't a good idea. The lack of sunlight caused an increase in fatigue which also affected her overall mood recently.
Jaemin grimaced at the sight, seeing his sister's red hair all tousled up, sticking out in random directions as he was for sure there were already tangles in her hair. Dark circles accentuate her gaze, making her green eyes more vibrant yet tired. Her pale skin seemed to have gotten more palish (if that was even possible) due to the lack of sunlight. If anything, she looked like a vampire who had just awoken from a deep slumber which was ironic since vampires don't sleep at all.
"You look absolutely terrible."
The girl scoffs in response, letting her legs finally touch the floor. "Tell me about it."
Usually, she would spend a lot of time into making her look good but during the past few days she stayed cooped up in her little corner, she literally did nothing but sleep, occasionally eating when Jaemin or Seri brings in some food for her.
The girl sits in front of her vanity, grabbing a brush to detangle and fix the bird's nest her hair had become. To be honest, she doesn't know what had happened to her. Usually, not being able to match a person wouldn't bother her as much, but for it to happen constantly? Was Sion right? Did she lose her touch?
