❛ i get chased by a bunch of fangirls ❜▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
It was a normal day at Camp Half-blood. Most of the campers had just finished lunch whilst the Aphrodite girl was just leaving the cabin to go get something to eat. She had woken up late due to the thoughts that kept her awake the whole night and even when she tried to get some shut eye, the sound of several voices in her head prevented her from doing so. With a yawn, she stretches her arms up in the air, brushing her hair back with her fingers before heading towards the Dining Pavilion.
As she sat down with her bowl of fruits, a plate of grilled meat, and her goblet filled with the yogurt drink she loved, she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable, feeling as if numerous eyes were on her. Subtly, she looks around to check, noticing a group of girls eyeing her suspiciously. Shoving this aside, she tried to eat her food peacefully.
The silent atmosphere around her didn't last as a familiar Poseidon kid walked towards her table. Now, she had gotten used to him joining her for either lunch or breakfast that she said nothing as the boy slid onto the empty seat in front of her.
Elbows propped onto the table, cradling the side of his head with his palm, he smiled at her. "I didn't see you during breakfast— I almost thought I wouldn't see you for lunch either."
Aeri could simply scoff at his words, chuckling lightly. "Would it kill you to not see me for a day?" She joked, glancing at Riku as she propped a grape in her mouth.
"Maybe," he shrugged and Aeri mindlessly waved off his words.
Riku hummed profusely, lips pursed as he gathered his words that he had practiced numerous times before walking up to her. "Hey, Aeri."
"Yes, Riku?"
"Have you given up looking for my match?"
His words made her stop for a moment, peering up at him in shock, her mouth agape. "You did not just say that!"
She crossed her arms over her chest, raising a brow at him. "And when did I ever give up? I have a 100% success rate! I don't miss a match."
Riku laughed at her and the girl found it lowkey offensive that the boy even thought of that in the first place. Aeri never gives up on her matchmaking—even if it seems a little impossible to her. Riku tilted his head to the side a little, watching as she ate her lunch with a pout on her lips. "I have a question."
The girl grumbled. "What is it now? It better not be another offensive statement!"
Riku smiled, jutting his head towards her binoculars. "Have you ever tried matching yourself with anyone?"
