Travis Kelce stands on the outside of Taylor Swift's front door. He never thought he'd be here, but he's come all this way to New York and somehow, the hardest part of the journey is the two steps in front of him. One hand hovers over the wood of her door, the other is tucked nervously away in his pocket. This is it, the day he's been waiting for. He's finally getting to take her out to dinner. He's made a reservation, and can't wait to meet the woman who has already charmed him so greatly over text. All that Travis wants is for everything to go perfectly tonight.

So, with a deep breath and a leap of faith, Travis knocks on the door. It's almost a little too quick that Taylor opens it up, indicating that she was surely on the other side waiting. And, as soon as his eyes fall upon her, he draws in a gasp. It's not even voluntary, she just looks that beautiful.

The woman appears in front of him, dressed in a flow white romper with little pink and yellow flowers on it. She's got a pair of chunky pink heels to match it, and her hair flows down around her shoulders in its natural curls. Her makeup is natural, but not without the occasional hint of sparkle. Oh, she's absolutely radiant.

But her smile is the best part of it all, lighting up her face as she greets him. "Travis!" she exclaims. "I'm so happy to finally meet you," she says, stepping towards him before freezing, then withdrawing. "Would it be weird to hug you?"

"Come here, girl," Travis says, opening his arms to embrace Taylor. "I've been waiting a long time to do that," he tells her once they break apart, far too soon for his taste but he knows he'd better have some reservations as they've only met two minutes ago.

A blush colors her cheeks as she ushers him inside. "I just need a quick moment and then I'll be all ready to go, alright?" As she's speaking, a cat runs up, beginning to rub against Travis's ankles. Taylor giggles. "That's Benjamin. He's my little boy; he's so friendly. He's my youngest. Olivia is sleeping right on the sofa over there, my middle daughter, and Meredith is my oldest. I'm sure that she's hiding off somewhere. She's not very social and doesn't like new people very much."

Travis laughs, bending down to scratch the cat's little head. "Hi Benjamin. You're a sweetheart, aren't you?"

At that, Taylor disappears for a moment, returning shortly with a handbag tucked into the crook of her elbow. Travis looks at her, raising his eyebrows. "Well, I hope you didn't grab that with intentions of picking up the bill."

Taylor shakes her head, a slight roll of her eyes not going unnoticed by Travis. "You came all this way. The least you can do is let me get the check."

"Oh no, that's my job. No ifs, ands, or buts about it," Travis tells her. It takes all of his willpower to not place his hand on her arm for emphasis. She looks down at the floor, a soft smile creeping into her face. She mutters a thanks and then, he holds out his hand, offering it to the beautiful woman standing by him. "Shall we?"

"We shall," she says, placing her fingers into his palm. "I'm still going to bring the purse, by the way. A girl's gotta keep her important toys and trinkets somewhere." She winks at him and then, they step out of the apartment, making their way to the car that's waiting for them in the garage below street level. Travis wasn't able to sweet-talk her security into letting him drive, not on the first date. But she managed to convince them to keep it lowkey, to go without the motorcade and only bring her two most trusted security guards to patrol the restaurant. They've got a private room booked, so they shouldn't need to worry about being spotted.

It's a plan all laid out perfectly... or it seems to be, until they get to the restaurant. When Travis speaks to the hostess, her brows instantly furrow up, indicating that something is wrong. That's quickly confirmed by her words.
