Taylor's birthday party is in full swing and after two vodka crans, she manages to take everything that was going on with Joe, nasty text and all, and push it out of her mind. Tonight is her special night to have some fun. To celebrate, because after all, she deserves that. She's worked damn hard this last year and she finally gets to let loose and party.

All of her most special people made it out to Kansas City for the celebrations. Her friends flew in from New York, Los Angeles, London, and Nashville. Jason and Kylie even came in from Philadelphia and Donna from Florida. Yes, his family is hers now, and it's been that way for a long time. She didn't need a ring to confirm that.

Of course, all of her Kansas City crew came too. They were once Travis's people, but they adopted her as one of their own. Now, they're her people too. Chariah was the first one to squeeze her, in fact, as soon as she walks through the door. A big bear hug.

As Taylor's making the rounds and talking to everyone, she sits down with Kylie for a bit. The woman is pregnant and her back has been bothering her, so it's no surprise that she is sitting the dancing out, assuring her husband that it was perfectly alright that he goes off and has a great time. But when Taylor notices that she's sitting by herself, the superstar can't let that go on for any longer. "Hey."

"Hey you," Kylie smiles. She'd been all cued in on Travis's plan to propose today. As the matter of fact, the chance to fawn over her future sister-in-law was one of the most important reasons that she flew all the way out to Kansas City, even as pregnancy has been hitting her hard. Nobody would have blamed her if she'd have stayed home from this party, but she wanted to be here for Taylor. But upon seeing an empty ring finger, Kylie furrows her brows. She grabs Taylor's hand and gives it a squeeze. "Did you guys have a good day?" she probes, hoping to investigate further. "Before this, I mean."

"Yeah, definitely," Taylor nods. "I had a friend and her fiancee over for lunch while Trav was at practice and then he came home and we spent some time just the two of us before coming here."

"Did Travis have a good day at practice?"

Honestly, Taylor doesn't know the answer to that one. She didn't really ask him. She usually does. He's usually eager to talk about it, but today, they had more important things to discuss. Still, if something would've gone wrong, surely he'd have told her. "I think so, why?"

"I just... I don't know, it's silly," Kylie shrugs. Her eyes dart away from Taylor, sure it's all just a silly little thing but still so confused. Travis was so excited yesterday when they talked about it.

Taylor bites her lip. "Have you been on Twitter or something? I know it's like, not great but my team is handling it and it'll all just blow over. If Travis seems upset... god, he didn't tell me that. He just said it was alright and we were going to take care of it. Should I go and check in on him?"

Kylie shakes her head vigorously. "No, no. Travis is fine. He's his usual, jolly self." They both look to the dance floor, where he's showing off his moves to some of the guys from the team. "Did something happen?"

"Just a stupid headline about me, that's all," Taylor shrugs. "It's entirely irrelevant."

"Oh," Kylie nods. "He's unfazed by that sort of thing. You know that."

Taylor does know. Still, she's sure that Kylie's trying to get at something by her questioning. The other woman has some sort of prerogative, something she's trying to uncover. And when she thinks about it for a moment, Taylor's got a feeling she knows what it is. "Have you been talking to Travis?"

"We spoke yesterday and he was telling me about a special birthday present he was getting you. That's all. I was just wondering if you'd received it yet. I'm sure he'll give it to you later." That's all that Kylie can manage to say without a blush creeping across her cheeks.
