fun fact a good chunk of this was written in a plane over the atlantic ocean while i was actively falling victim to an ice storm cancelling my flight and stranding me overnight while trying to get home following several days of waking up at 8 am, walking 10+ miles per day, sleeping in the cheapest hotel, and eating only sweet treats and ciders (it was a great time don't get me wrong) so do what you want with that info but if it seems like it was written by someone extremely sleep deprived and/or stressed then it's because that's exactly who wrote it! but it's nice and long so enjoy <3 i've got a bunch of your requests queued up to write, thank you all for all of those ideas omg! they were so cute

Taylor smiles as she sits in Travis's arms and they snuggle in his bed in his off-campus apartment. Outside of his closed door, they can hear the movement of his two best friends, who he shares the place with, but that doesn't matter to them. It's just so peaceful.

He's having a much-needed night of rest. Tomorrow is his first football game of the semester and she knows that he's really excited. She is too. He asked her to come about a week ago. They've been going out on dates for around a month and a half and they mutually agreed to delete their dating apps. They're not official yet, but they're committed to each other and everything is going really well. Taylor hopes that it won't be long before she gets to call him her boyfriend.

It's both of their junior years and Taylor has only been to one football game before, her freshman year homecoming. Her parents and younger brother had really wanted to go, so she had reluctantly agreed. That doesn't mean that she knows the first thing about how football works. Still... she's a lot more excited this time around. Travis's roommate Patrick is dating a girl named Brittany and Travis made sure that the two of them were sitting together. He said that Brittany would fill her in on what was going down if she needed any help following the game. The two have been dating since they were 14 years old, so that girl has certainly been to her fair share of football games.

Though Taylor hasn't met Brittany yet, she's excited at the prospect of a new friend and learning about the game. But more than anything, she's excited to look out on that field and see Travis doing what he loves.

She played an open mic night a few weeks back and Travis was so excited to show up and watch her sing, even so early on into dating. He gave her the biggest hug after she came back to her seat, before she was even able to put her guitar back into its case. That was the quickest way to win her over, truly. The way that he expressed interest in her favorite thing and wanted to be there for her, it made her swoon. She wants to bring that same energy into the thing that makes him happy.

As the two college students are all snuggled up, of course the topic of the game makes its way into the conversation. Taylor's told him so many times just how excited she is, but she reminds him yet again.

"Actually, Tay," Travis says, rubbing her shoulders, "there was something I was gonna ask you about tomorrow. And I don't want you to feel pressured to say yes. You can say whatever you want, alright?"

She raises her eyebrows, pulling away from him a little bit so that she can turn and look him in the eye. She takes each of his hands in hers and squeezes them. "What's up?"

He bites his lip for a moment, blinking a few times and taking a deep breath before he speaks. "Well, a bunch of the guys... it's sort of a tradition on the team, I guess... their girlfriends all wear their jerseys to the game. So, uh, if you want to... I've got a jersey for you."

Taylor feels her cheeks going pink. She nearly melts right there as she looks at the boy sitting by her, so nervous to ask this question. Yet, she isn't going to give in just like that. That's not her style. She's got to egg him on a little bit first. If he's going to word it like that, saying that the girlfriends are the ones to wear the jerseys, well... that's a perfect opportunity to get what she wants from him: to be his girlfriend. "Well, I don't think that would be wise. I'm not your girlfriend, after all."
