The hospital check-up had become routine for Zhu Tong.

After getting the scans and leaving the hospital, Zhu Tong's condition had improved quite a bit. At the very least, he wasn't gasping for breath every three steps or coughing every two anymore.

Although his complexion remained pale, his expression was as usual. Despite the severity of coughing up blood, he seemed completely unconcerned about any serious health issues. Nor did he plan on informing his family.

Shao Ming was no longer holding him and casually asked, "Aren't you going to call your parents?"

Zhu Tong replied, "Call them for what?"

Shao Ming: "..."

During the check-up, the doctor had noticed Zhu Tong's pallor and recommended several additional tests, almost suggesting in their tone that he might have some terminal illness. Yet, Zhu Tong listened calmly, showing no visible emotion. It was as if he didn't care at all.

Shao Ming chuckled lightly and asked, "Have you always gone to the hospital alone for check-ups?"

Zhu Tong answered, "More or less."

He had to undergo routine check-ups every month at his family's private hospital, arranged by his personal doctor. This doctor had been chosen by his maternal grandfather and was far more reliable than his father.

Zhu Tong spoke of it casually, but Shao Ming's smile slightly faded. Going to the hospital for such important matters, and without any family to accompany him? With his health in such a poor state, his family had actually allowed him to leave A City on his own?

If Shao Ming hadn't accompanied him to the hospital today, would he have gone by himself for the check-up? Or perhaps, he hadn't intended to go at all.

Shao Ming pictured him sitting alone in a hospital corridor, waiting in line. A truly... pitiable young master.

By the time they returned to school, it was already the last class of the afternoon. Shi Wenshu was not in the classroom, and the usually disciplined students of Class 3 were now making a lot of noise during the self-study session.

As soon as Zhu Tong entered the classroom, someone called out to him, "Zhu Tong, Teacher Shi said you should go to the office when you get back."

"..."

Zhu Tong paused, politely asking, "Do you know what it's about?"

Someone behind him cut in, "It's the homeroom teacher from Class 1 in Year 1, bringing Xiang Chuan over to apologize to you. The school issued a notice and Xiang Chuan is being given a major demerit. They probably want to ask you for leniency."

"Pfft, he has the nerve to ask for leniency? Wasn't he so tough when he made his move?"

"He beat someone until they coughed up blood, and now he wants to apologize? If apologies could fix everything, what's the point of school regulations?"

Everyone in the class already knew what had happened during the physical education class, and now each one was more indignant than the last.

Perhaps it was because Class 3 had Shao Ming, the "white moonlight," that the Mary Sue aura did not extend to the sophomore Class 3; they all had a clear sense of right and wrong and a strong sense of justice.

Zhu Tong turned to look at Shao Ming, feeling that he radiated a halo of enlightenment. All the evil around them seemed to dissipate.

Pfft.

"Are you looking at me because you want me to accompany you?" Shao Ming teased ambiguously, instantly dispelling the aura of enlightenment.

Zhu Tong: "..."
