The school quickly received the news that Yuan Shaozhao had been beaten and admitted to the hospital.

However, since the incident took place off-campus, and no one had stirred up trouble at the school yet, the school turned a blind eye to it for the time being.

In the hospital, Yuan Shaozhao lay on the bed, his face bruised and swollen, with gauze wrapped around his head and one leg bandaged and suspended. He looked both pathetic and ridiculous, with eyes full of malice.

"I want him expelled! Mom, go to the school right now. Go to Class 3 and find someone named Zhu Tong. He's the one who had people beat me like this! Go find dad, and have him contact uncle. I want him expelled! I want him jailed!"

Yuan Shaozhao shouted loudly, his already terrifying face twisting grotesquely with pain and fury. Even the woman beside the bed was startled by his outburst.

But he was still her son, so her shock quickly gave way to concern. She held Yuan Shaozhao's hand and said, "Alright, alright, Shaozhao, don't be afraid. Mom will get justice for you. Just rest for now. Lie down carefully, or your wound will open again."

Yuan Shaozhao seemed possessed, shaking off her hand forcefully. "Go! Go find dad! Where's dad?"

He screamed hysterically, his voice echoing through the hospital room. Two nurses passing by glanced in but exchanged a look and shook their heads.

No one went in to remind him to keep quiet since it was a hospital, nor did anyone offer any comfort. It seemed like he was beyond saving.

The woman, flustered by his shouting, reassured him as she stepped out to make a phone call.

Not long after, Yuan Hui arrived at the hospital.

Seeing his father, Yuan Shaozhao's madness seemed to subside a little, and he reached out, full of hope. "Dad..."

Slap!

A sharp slap echoed in the hospital room.

"Honey!" The woman cried out in disbelief.

Yuan Shaozhao, his head turned from the blow, slowly looked back at his father, also in disbelief.

Yuan Hui, still fuming with anger, pointed at him and said, "You useless brat! Haven't I told you not to provoke people you shouldn't mess with? Do you even know who you've offended?"

Yuan Shaozhao stammered, "I..."

"The thugs who beat you have already turned themselves in. They said you hired them to teach a student named Zhu Tong a lesson, but you didn't hold up your end of the deal. They attacked you out of revenge!"

Yuan Shaozhao's mind was blank for a long moment.

What did that mean?

They beat him out of revenge?

And Zhu Tong?

"No, no! It was Zhu Tong who told them to beat me! He's the mastermind behind it all, dad. Zhu Tong set me up..."

"Where's the evidence?" Yuan Hui roared. "Where's your damn evidence? The police have records of you transferring money to those thugs through WeChat. If you weren't in the hospital right now, you'd be sitting in jail talking to me!"

"..."

"Of all the people to provoke, you just had to go after the heir of Zhu Group in City A! Are you out of your mind?"

As he spoke, he nearly hit him again, but the woman quickly blocked him. "Honey! Please don't hit our son, you'll kill him!"

"It would be better if I did! Then he wouldn't keep causing me so much trouble!"
