Zhu Tong had only visited the guesthouse once at the beginning of the semester; afterward, he had passed by the entrance without entering.

Standing in the courtyard again, the unique garden scenery still caught his eye.

Shao Ming parked the bicycle behind him and, seeing Zhu Tong lost in thought, approached and asked, "Why don't you go in?"

Zhu Tong turned and asked, "Go in where?"

Shao Ming: "..."

With a sigh, he stepped forward to lead the way.

The guesthouse had only four rooms for rent: one single room, one double room, and two luxury suites upstairs.

Zhu Tong had booked the single room at the start of the semester.

Being led into Shao Ming's rental, Zhu Tong noticed the clear two-bedroom layout and asked, "You... live here alone?"

Shao Ming replied, "Why not?"

Zhu Tong: "Why would someone rent a two-bedroom apartment for just one person?"

Wouldn't the rent be significantly higher?

Shao Ming observed him with a raised eyebrow as he curiously surveyed the surroundings. "Maybe I'm waiting for its other occupant?"

Zhu Tong turned to him in surprise.

How long did he plan to stay here?

Shao Ming was only in high school; what could he be waiting for in terms of a "roommate"?

Unless it was an early romance.

But Shao Ming didn't seem like the type to have a high school crush.

His gaze was too "innocent." Shao Ming, feeling somewhat helpless, honestly said, "Because the living room in the double room is bigger."

Zhu Tong immediately adopted an expression of understanding.

Shao Ming: "..."

He felt a complex mixture of emotions for a moment and pointed in a direction. "The bathroom is that way. Go wash up."

Zhu Tong nodded but then turned back, saying, "I didn't bring any toiletries."

Shao Ming replied, "You can use mine. There's an extra set in the bathroom cabinet."

"...Oh."

Zhu Tong actually wanted to take a shower, but there was no time, and he hadn't brought any change of clothes.

Entering the bathroom, Zhu Tong habitually surveyed the environment.

The double room had only one bathroom, but it was spacious enough, featuring a shower separated by floor-to-ceiling glass, a clean sink, and a dry, tidy floor with nothing uncomfortable in sight.

As he reached the sink and turned on the water, he looked at his reflection in the mirror.

After a moment of inspection, he felt his complexion had improved quite a bit.

It seemed the system rewards really worked.

But how had his favorability increased?

Last night, in such intense pain and barely conscious, he hadn't really done anything to boost favorability.

Besides, he had been in such a miserable state with his stomachache; it should have been quite embarrassing, right?

...Could it be sympathy?

Zhu Tong shook his head, too lazy to think any further.

He was already late for the morning study session and couldn't afford any more delays.
