Habits can be a frightening thing. Zhu Tong had felt unsettled from the afternoon until evening due to Shao Ming's unusual behavior, but now that Shao Ming had simply kissed him, all his unease vanished.

It was still the familiar formula, the familiar sensation.

His cheeks flushed slightly as he pushed Shao Ming away, saying, "You..."

As he lifted his gaze, he was momentarily taken aback.

Shao Ming was staring at him from just a forehead's distance, his eyes filled with warmth.

Then Shao Ming straightened up and embraced him tightly.

With Zhu Tong leaning against him, he could distinctly hear the accelerated heartbeats of both of them.

"...What's wrong with you?"

Now, asking that question, Zhu Tong felt surprisingly calm.

Shao Ming didn't give a vague reply; instead, he chuckled softly and said, "I was a little startled."

"..."

Startled? By whom? Grandpa?

No, Shao Ming had just asked about... surveillance?

Why had he asked about that?

As Zhu Tong thought about it, he attempted to lift his head from Shao Ming's embrace, but was held in place by the grip on the back of his head.

"?"

He questioned, "Why are you holding me like this?"

Shao Ming replied, "When I look at your face, I can't help but want to kiss you."

Zhu Tong: "..."

Did he ever say he didn't want to be kissed?

When had Shao Ming become so cautious about kissing him?

Zhu Tong tentatively probed, "Did grandpa say something to you?"

Was he advising him to keep his distance or something?

Shao Ming thought about the publicly humiliating footage he had seen and shook his head gently. "No, he didn't say anything."

Zhu Tong suddenly became alert. "Then what did he show you?"

Shao Ming: "..."

He figured Mr. Cheng didn't mean to give a warning.

Not wanting Zhu Tong to experience the same awkwardness he had, Shao Ming sighed and admitted, "He showed me some surveillance footage."

Zhu Tong thought, just as he suspected.

With a bit of force, he straightened up from Shao Ming's embrace. "What footage?"

Shao Ming looked down at him. "Footage from when you were hospitalized."

Zhu Tong: "..."

He felt a pang of anxiety. "Which footage?"

He knew there were cameras in the hospital room, but what was there to watch?

It was either sleeping, undergoing treatment, or spending time out of boredom.

The hospitalization process certainly wasn't pleasant; in fact, it was rather embarrassing, and it was the last thing Zhu Tong wanted anyone to see, especially Shao Ming.

He lowered his gaze. "Did I look terrible back then?"

"Not at all," Shao Ming said.

Zhu Tong forced a smile. "Are you seeing me through rose-colored glasses? I know I must have looked awful."
