Zhu Tong had not understood before, but he had heard that young people's relationships often do not last.

The passions of youth—he wasn't sure if everyone, like him, imagined and planned for the future when they liked someone. Once they were together, he had never considered that they might eventually part ways.

But what about Shao Ming?

He was always absolutely rational. While he might take feelings seriously, he must have also thought about the difficulties they might face in the future.

What Zhu Tong took for granted posed challenges for Shao Ming.

His family was a source of pressure in itself.

"I need to do something," Zhu Tong suddenly said.

The system asked, "Do what?"

Zhu Tong got up, glanced around the living room, found his phone, and then looked toward the bathroom. Sneakingly, he took his phone into his room.

If the favorability cannot reach full value due to concerns, then wouldn't it be better to eliminate those concerns?

After unlocking his phone, Zhu Tong found the interface still displaying his chat history with his cousin. He glanced at the message before closing WeChat and directly called his grandfather.

Cheng Qingsong was currently abroad and on his way to the airport to return home. When he unexpectedly received a call from his grandson, the old man was overjoyed, though he showed no sign of it on his face as he calmly answered, "Tong Tong, what's wrong?"

Zhu Tong felt a bit uneasy about calling so late.

He tightened his grip on the phone. "Grandpa, are you still awake this late?"

Cheng Qingsong looked out at the glaring sun. "It's still early."

Zhu Tong replied awkwardly, "You're getting older; you shouldn't stay up late all the time. It's not good for your health."

Cheng Qingsong appreciated this concern, his serious tone softening somewhat. "Mm, okay."

"..."

The conversation fell into silence.

The driver in front paused momentarily upon hearing the old man's response, surprised as he turned to look.

Normally, others would nod and say "okay" in front of Cheng Qingsong, but this was the first time he had responded with "okay" to someone else.

The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and even sensed a slight tension in the old man's expression.

In fact, Zhu Tong felt even more tense.

His cousin had told him that his grandfather already knew about his relationship with Shao Ming.

But why didn't his grandfather ask anything?

If his grandfather didn't inquire, how was he supposed to bring it up? Should he just say he was dating someone?

Was it a sign of respect that he didn't ask, or did he think Zhu Tong was just playing around like those wealthy young masters?

This misunderstanding could lead to trouble.

Zhu Tong hesitated about how to speak up.

Cheng Qingsong broke the silence first. "How was your holiday?"

"..."

Thinking about the unpleasant incident at the milk tea shop, Zhu Tong found it hard to lie and say he had a good holiday. He decided to deflect instead. "It was okay. I had few assignments today; I only completed two papers."
