Zhu Tong wasn't sure if what he said was genuine or just a joke.

Was it because he was worried?

Maybe.

But not entirely.

Zhu Tong didn't know whether to nod. He sat on the bench, his back pressed against the wall, staring blankly at the person standing in front of him.

Was he really this nervous?

Shao Ming raised an eyebrow, couldn't bear to tease him further, and sat down beside him. "Did you come alone?"

Zhu Tong instinctively nodded, then quickly shook his head. "...Uncle Liu dropped me off at the square."

"..."

Shao Ming asked, "Is your foot okay?"

Zhu Tong replied, "It's fine."

"Let me have a look."

"No need..."

Before Zhu Tong could finish, Shao Ming had already lowered his head and pulled his right leg onto his own lap.

Zhu Tong, taken by surprise, let out a gasp.

Then someone's voice was louder than his.

A girl waiting at the counter to buy bubble tea let out a shriek but quickly stopped.

Zhu Tong instinctively looked over and saw them, one by one, eagerly raising their phones, cameras aimed at where they were sitting.

"!"

Zhu Tong was startled and instinctively tried to pull his leg back.

Shao Ming, however, firmly held his leg in place and rolled up his pant leg to check his ankle.

The swelling had subsided significantly but was still quite visible.

Shao Ming frowned slightly.

Though the milk tea shop was right on the square, the distance from the entrance of the square to the shop wasn't short.

And yet this guy still waited in line outside.

Shao Ming let go of his leg, looked up at him, and asked, "How long have you been waiting?"

As soon as his leg was free, Zhu Tong hurriedly put it down and replied, somewhat flustered, "Not, not long."

It hadn't been half an hour.

Shao Ming said, "Knowing your foot was injured, you still went to wait in line?"

Zhu Tong glanced at the still long line at the counter and mumbled, "Everyone else was in line."

"..."

So, because others were in line, you followed suit?

Shao Ming looked at him for a moment, then suddenly chuckled. "Why are you so obedient?"

Zhu Tong: "..."

Was that a compliment or an insult?

Before he could react, the girls at the front of the counter were excited again.

What was with that sudden leg move, ah ah ah ah!

How could he do it so smoothly and naturally?

And that smile—so indulgent!

The girls could barely contain their urge to scream in unison!

Zhu Tong, meanwhile, was nervous about Shao Ming's ambiguous attitude and confused about the sudden excitement of the girls.
