The latest medical results arrived promptly.
In the hotel room, two people sat at a small table near the floor-to-ceiling window, typically used for afternoon tea, with a laptop in front of them.
Shao Ming scrolled through the mouse, carefully reviewing one report after another.
There were two copies of the same medical results, but they were taken at different times.
At first, Shao Ming found these reports hard to believe. However, the different timestamps, which assisted the doctors in confirming Zhu Tong's condition, further validated the authenticity of these results.
Zhu Tong spoke softly from beside him, "I told you that I'm doing pretty well now, I wasn't lying."
Shao Ming lifted his head from the laptop screen, turning to look at him. He parted his lips but couldn't utter a single word.
The current medical results were completely different from those Jiang Wan had previously sent him.
More precisely, it was impossible for such contrasting reports to belong to the same person.
Shao Ming's initial reaction was that Jiang Wan had deceived him.
But Jiang Wan had no reason to fabricate a medical report to fool him.
Moreover, there was also what Zhu Tong had said.
Shao Ming stared at Zhu Tong for a moment and then spoke in a dry voice, "You... you said you wouldn't be able to stay with me for long. What did you mean?"
Wasn't this an admission of his earlier statement, "I plan to drift through life, ready to die at any moment"?
If he was already cured, why would he say such things?
Zhu Tong replied, "I said it was a possibility."
"..."
Possibly not staying long, but also possibly...
Even with Shao Ming's intelligence, he found himself utterly confused at this moment.
How could someone so plagued with illnesses recover so completely in just two months?
Shao Ming couldn't help but ask, "What's going on with your body?"
"..."
Zhu Tong originally intended to brush it off, claiming he didn't know either, but after thinking it over, he swallowed those words and directly explained, "I've been frail since childhood, always getting inexplicably sick with all sorts of strange conditions. When I was previously hospitalized, I couldn't even tolerate a breeze, and any slight touch would cause bleeding. The doctors said my immune system was practically nonexistent, and I can't even count how many critical condition notices I received... But now, as you can see, I'm full of life. My health is really quite good."
Shao Ming replied, "You..."
"I know you find this strange," Zhu Tong interrupted, continuing, "There are some things I don't know how to explain to you, and I can't share them with you just yet. I showed you the medical reports and told you all of this just to let you know that I'm really fine now. You don't need to worry about my health. I can promise you that until the start of senior year, my body won't have any more issues—truly."
Zhu Tong looked at him with sincere eyes.
Shao Ming, however, was stunned and didn't speak for a long time.
Zhu Tong, already tense, felt even more nervous under his gaze.
He slowly clenched his hands resting on his lap.
