(Song Recommendation: None.)
One for sorrow.
Two for a mirth.
Three for a wedding.
Four for a birth.
Five for silver.
Six for gold.
Seven for a secret never to be told.
Eight for a kiss.
Nine for a wish.
Ten for a time of joyous bliss.
Vulture carefully shut the door behind him and walked over to Link to sit beside him. "... O-One for-" Link's words were cut off when Vulture pressed a hand to his mouth and pulled him close.
Not a word choked from either of them until Link stretched out his arm to start counting again. "Stop it..." Vulture pushed Link's arms down and held them down. "... Go and eat something..." Link mumbled. "That's rich coming from you, Rookie-" "Stop calling me that." He shoved Vulture away and finally stood up to throw his blouse onto a chair and step into bed.
"You had no issue with it earlier?" Vulture crossed his arms and watched as Link pulled the bed sheets over his head. "I just didn't mention it earlier because I was nervous about... Everything." Link's reply was quiet, muffled and led to Vulture laying down beside him. "... What do you want me to call you then?"
"... Link."
Vulture sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Your name is so fucking annoying... Honestly." "Then call me Rookie." "But you were just fucking complaining-! Oh my god, I'm done with you." Link listened as Vulture stormed out of the room and slammed the door shut behind him. The loud sound caused him to jump a little and stretch out his arm again.
"One for sorrow, two for joy..." He continued counting, this time with tears in his eyes.
He cut himself off again when he heard the front door fling open and shut again. Almost as quick as lightning, Link ran out of the room and glanced around. He searched through each room before looking into Vulture's bedroom. As he pushed open the door, Ivory ran out and curled around Link's legs. He was purring and meowing like crazy. Link, with a sigh, entered the bedroom and clenched his fists.
With almost no choice, Link started occupying himself with whatever he could. He changed Vulture's bedsheets (he accidentally found the fresh bed sheets in a basket under the bed,) fed Ivory, organised the cabinets and cupboards and folded up some of the screwed-up clothes that Vulture had left on his bedroom floor. "How can someone be this lazy and dirty...?" Link asked himself as he folded up another shirt. "... This one needs cleaning..." He muttered and threw one of the pairs of jeans into a small pile of clothes that he planned on washing at "some point."
He didn't know how long Vulture would be gone for but knew he would be out for a while considering he seemed a little angry. Link's paranoia started overtaking his body and developed into an overwhelming depression that felt impossible to get over.
I was acting weird. I sounded like I was purposely trying to annoy him. Should I feel bad because he didn't call me Link? Should he be sorry? Should I be sorry?
As he entered his own bedroom again and closed the door behind him, the front door flung open. He held the bedroom door shut and locked it quietly as the sound of lust and compassion enacted from the larger part of the penthouse.
"So kids like you do have hearts of gold?" A female voice giggled from outside the door. Vulture's chuckle followed. "Hearts made of only the finest jewels. The linen ones with stitches aren't to my taste..." He smirked, holding the female against the nearest wall as she tugged at his shirt collar.
