Harper sat in math class like normal. Rosie had always been in her class, but never spoke to her. Until today, that is.

Harper was taking her books out, when she felt a breath on her ear. She side eyed the person, then stared.

"Can I help you..?" Harper blinked.

"Yeah." Rosie said harshly. "Stop trying to be friends with my friend." She hissed.

"And why should I do that?" Harper asked.

"Because she doesn't like you." Rosie smirked. "Do you know what she says about you when you can't hear?"

"W-what does she say?" Harper asked, curious.

"She says you're a freaky, gay, pushover." Rosie lied, smiling.

"I'm not gay.." Harper mumbled as if that was the biggest concern right now.

"Well your dads are." Rosie kept smiling.

"And it's hard to believe they wouldn't influence their daughter to be a fag.." Rosie smirked.

Harper stood up. Luckily, the professor wasn't in the room yet.

"Aww, what are you gonna do?" Rosie giggled.

Harper huffed. She wanted to punch her so bad, and she knew she could, due to her two summers of boxing classes she randomly did, but she stood still.

"Nothing?" Rosie got closer, smiling.

"Call me it again, I dare you." Harper snapped. No one had ever seen her like this. Harper would not let anyone call her or her dads a fag.

"Call you what you and your family are? Fags?" Rosie said, then let out a pig shriek as Harper's fist slammed against her cheek.

The whole class went ballistic with noise and movement. And of course, the professor saw everything. Harper was immediately dragged to the principal's office, but Harper regretted nothing in that moment.

After a long talking to, Charlie had come to pick his daughter up.

"Harper! What on earth-" Charlie said.

"Dad, I can explain!" Harper begged.

"Then, please, explain!" Charlie said.

"She was saying really cruel things.. And then she called me, and our whole family fags!" Harper said.

Charlie's expression changed, and he sighed.

"Did she really?" Charlie asked, though knowing Harper wouldn't lie about that.

Harper nodded.

"It was just so rude.."

"I understand why you did what you did. Some people deserve a proper punch in the face." Charlie said. "But.. I don't want that to happen again."

"Am I in trouble?" Harper asked softly.

"I.. I don't know." Charlie sighed. "We'll see what your dad says." He shrugged. Charlie was a really gentle parent, and he hated punishing when he wasn't 100% sure they deserved it.

When they arrived home, Harper went to her room and started writing in her journal. Nick had first suggested it. Harper was against it at first, but now it was how she got all her thoughts and emotions out.

Nick got home a few hours later, and Charlie told him what happened. Harper got another lecture, which was expected, but she honestly tuned out most of it.

"Just- please don't punch anyone anymore, Harper.." Nick groaned softly.

"Do you understand?" He asked.

"Yeah.." Harper mumbled, then walked up to her room. She was suspended from school for 3 days, and of course, Rosie was innocent.
