Harper softly hummed to the tune of the lyrics, and Ivy giggled. Harper was surprised, to say the least. She had never heard Ivy truly laugh like that, and yet it was endearing.
"You like this song?" Ivy asked, to which Harper nodded her head in response.
"It's one of my favorites. I love Chappell Roan." Harper added. Ivy controlled herself enough to refrain from saying 'I'm not surprised' or anything of that sort.
Ivy took a moment to listen to the lyrics, and the line that got her went something like 'so I pushed you down a million times.' And she mulled over how she had ignored Harper for ages, and now she was (in the words of Rosie) obsessed.
"Wow, this is really poetic." Ivy said, only slightly sarcastic.
"It really is.. All her songs are. But this one.. This one just.. I dunno." Harper shrugged, grinning as she silently mouthed the words.
Ivy continued listening to the lyrics, and other one caught her mind. 'boys suck, and girls I've never tried.' Ivy thought for a moment. That was true; boys did suck, so what other option did Ivy have except for girls?
As the music got more intense, so did the vast amount, and almost physically painful tension between them. Neither of the girls knew what was coming over them, and they were almost.. Angry at themselves for feeling this certain way.
Why am I like this? Harper thought.
Why am I like this? Ivy asked herself the same.
Harper moved her head to Ivy, staring; admiring the girl in front of her. Once Ivy had became aware of this gesture, she did the same. In this moment, if someone had told Harper she was telepathic, she would believe them, because it felt like she was saying all the things she wished to say to Ivy, though not a single word escaped her mouth. They both involuntary learned closer like they were two magnets, being forced together. Closer, and closer until..
Right on the beat drop, Harper felt another pair of lips upon her own. She realized that she and Ivy..
They were kissing.
Ivy barely had time to close her eyes and take it all in before Harper pulled away, gasping for air between awkward laughs.
Ivy took a shaky breath, her eyes glued to the floor.
Harper didn't know what to do. Go in for another kiss? Apologize? Say something? Whatever she decided, it was too late. A voice shouted from outside.
"Ivy! Where are you, I wanna talk!" Rosie shouted. Ivy, like normal, wasted no time in leaving Harper, confused and all alone.
Harper brought her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly since she could already feel her nose tingling as tears rushed to her eyes, threatening to fall down her red cheeks if she blinked.
"Stupid.." Harper sniffled. After a few minutes, she finally got a hold of herself and texted Bea.
Beaaaa<3🐝
"What the fuck do you do when you kiss a girl??"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? I NEED CONTEXT. WHAT. DO. YOU. MEAN."
"I kissed a girl.."
"Where the FUCK are you?? Can you FaceTime?"
Harper didn't respond to the text, instead just face timing Bea.
"I'm at a party.. I-i kissed Ivy and then her friend called her and she- she just left.. And I dunno what to doooo.." Harper whined the moment she saw Bea's face pop up on her screen.
