Harper woke up more groggy than usual the next morning. She was tired, physically and mentally. Yet, she pushed herself out of bed and got ready for school. Harper was.. Anxious, to say the least. Really, she was a mess. With all the fuss about David, she had barely gotten time to think about her kiss with Ivy, which was her biggest priority as of today. Harper longer to just tell Ivy how she felt. But.. How did Harper feel? Harper wanted to know now. But it was hard. Was she bi? Lesbian? Something else? Did Harper even like Ivy, or was she just infatuated by the kiss?
No. Harper thought, I definitely fancy. Ivy. I get butterflies every time I see her.
Harper marched through the school gates and made it to form. Lucky for Harper, Ivy was already in her seat, yet their professor wasn't even in the room.
"Ivy." Harper said when she sat down.
Ivy looked at the other girl. "Mhm?"
"I want to talk. About the kiss. Properly." Harper stated. God, why did she get so nervous around this girl?
Ivy rolled her eyes as she leaned back in her chair, knowing Harper was about to go on a rambling spree.
"Look, I know you said you're not 'girlfriend material', whatever that is. I understand if you're not queer and- and if you don't fancy me but.. But I've fallen for you, Ivy." Harper finished, feeling like she might cry if Ivy rejected. She just poured her heart out, and she wasn't even sure Ivy cared.
Ivy was frozen like a deer in the headlights. She hadn't gotten much time to think about the kiss, her mind filled with her parents arguing over a threatened divorce. Ivy didn't want to say yes to Harper, because then she'd be vulnerable. Honestly, it was hard for Ivy to imagine how it would be to have a girlfriend. But, maybe, just maybe someone would actually care for her.. Maybe Ivy did need a girlfriend.
"Okay? So..?" Ivy mumbled, crossing her arms.
Harper gulped, blushing. "I'm saying I wanna go out with you. I don't know how much more blunt I can be."
Ivy nodded, trying not to let her guard down, but fuck, Harper was adorable, too adorable to say no to.
"Fine." Ivy said, not even knowing what she was agreeing to.
Harper's eyes practically sparkled, the streak of sunlight across her face making her actually glow. "Great-!" Harper couldn't get more words out without giggling, but she then calmed herself, not wanting to freak out.
"Do- are- so do you wanna go on a date?" Harper asked, containing her squeal that was threatening to burst out of her mouth.
"What if," Ivy smirked, knowing she would get a reaction out of Harper, "I pick your pretty little arse up on Saturday at six, hmm?"
Harper nodded calmly, though her face was as red as a rose. "Perfect. Well- hopefully. I'll let you know if I'm free."
Ivy nodded, watching as the teacher came in, immediately shushing everyone with a shout. Normally this would annoy Harper, but she felt as high as a cloud with dopamine right now.
Harper was thrilled when lunch was called, this meant she could finally tell her friends what happened. Harper rushed over to Bea, Jessie, Rory. Harper smiled when she saw Bea and Rory sitting close, their arms around each other's waists. They had recently started dating, and they were only out to Jessie and Harper.
"I think I might throw up." Harper said as she sat down. That was definitely not what Harper was planning to say, yet it spilled out.
"Why?" Rory asked, scooting away in case Harper actually decided to barf then and there.
