Huening Kai: Match making

Y/N fidgeted in the passenger seat as Mia drove through the busy streets of Seoul, the city lights flickering by. Though she was shy, she wasn't nervous—far from it, she was actually excited to finally meet some of Mia's friends, especially the mystery guy Mia had been hinting at for the past few weeks. After a string of terrible dates with guys who either talked too much or not at all, or were just plain weird, Y/N was ready for something different. Mia had promised her that tonight would be the night she'd meet someone who was the perfect match for her.

Mia was smiling knowingly from the driver's seat, humming to the soft music playing in the background. "You're going to love them," she said, throwing a quick glance at Y/N.

"I hope so," Y/N muttered, biting her lip. She trusted Mia, but at the same time, blind dates weren't exactly her thing. "Who all is going to be there?"

Mia grinned mischievously. "Oh, just some friends. A few of the girls from my group, some guys you may recognize... and someone special I want you to meet."

Y/N narrowed her eyes. "Someone special, huh? You're so cryptic, Mia. Are you trying to set me up without telling me?"

Mia just giggled, a playful smirk spreading across her face. "Maybe, maybe not."

They pulled up to a fancy restaurant, one of those places Y/N had only ever passed by but never actually stepped inside. Mia parked the car and grabbed Y/N's hand, tugging her out of her thoughts. "Come on, let's go meet the goofballs."

"Goofballs?" Y/N laughed, letting Mia drag her along. "Now I'm really curious."

As they entered the restaurant, Mia's grip on Y/N's hand tightened. Y/N felt a sudden rush of excitement, her heart thumping in her chest. When they walked into the private section of the restaurant, Y/N's eyes landed on the group waiting for them.

Her mind froze. Oh my God, it's TXT.

She managed to keep her expression neutral, but inside, her mind was spinning. Seated at the table were the members of TXT, along with Mia's group members, and Hueningkai's siblings, Bahiyyih and Lea. Bahiyyih gave her a bright, welcoming smile, waving excitedly at Y/N. But then her eyes slid over to the girl sitting next to Hueningkai—Minji. The one Mia had mentioned a few times as being a bit... difficult. Y/N caught Minji's eyes briefly, and the girl's gaze was anything but friendly.

Mia stepped forward, breaking the tension in the air. "Hey, guys!" she beamed, her voice light and cheerful.

The group responded in a chorus of "Hey, Mia!" with Yeonjun, the eldest of TXT, flashing Y/N a charming smile.

Yeonjun was the first to speak directly to her. "Who's this?" he asked, looking at Y/N with curious eyes, his tone polite.

Mia grinned and threw an arm around Y/N's shoulder. "This is Y/N, a very good friend of mine. I figured she could use a few new faces in her life, and who better than you goofballs?" Mia smirked, emphasizing the word "goofballs."

Beomgyu chuckled, shaking his head. "Goofballs, huh? I feel like we're being called out."

Mia winked before her eyes flicked across the group—first locking with Soobin, then Taehyun, then Yeonjun, and Beomgyu. But it was when her gaze landed on Hueningkai that Y/N noticed something different. Mia held his gaze a little longer, almost as if something unsaid was being exchanged between them. An invisible smirk played on Mia's lips before she nudged Y/N towards a seat between Beomgyu and Bahiyyih, directly across from Hueningkai.

As Y/N sat down, Bahiyyih was quick to start the conversation. "So, Mia's told us so much about you! I've been dying to meet you." She smiled, leaning forward eagerly. "She talks about you all the time. We were all curious about this 'mysterious Y/N' she's been going on about."
