Since the day Kelani was born Carnell and I haven't talked much and I ended up Moving to an apartment close to the suburbs. We've grown so distant from each other and have gotten consumed in our own lives. I've decided to raise Kelani on my own even though I have yet to find out who her dad is. Carnell's raising Darien, along with the fact I hear he's moving some girl in with him. I mean it's none of my business, but why rush to move in with some trick you barely know, not to mention the fact you're gonna have her over your child. Hey, if he's happy, I'm happy.

It's been a year since Bree and I broke up, and I gotta say I feel like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders. About three months after we broke up, I ran into one of the most beautiful girl's I've ever seen at the mall and her name's Sienna. I saw her sitting on the food court one day talking on the phone one day and there was just something about her smile that was just so warm and inviting that I had to just walk over to talk to her and once I did we just clicked. One of the things that I have to say I truly love about her is that she's understanding. Once we started dating regularly, I told her about Darien and My past relationship with Autumn and she completely understood and was willing to stick around. She helps out with him from time to time and is actually really good with him. Sienna's the closest thing to a mother figure Darien has.

Sienna: Babe I'm back with more boxes!

Carnell: Great I'll help you bring them in!

Sienna: I'm so glad I'm moving in, I can finally be with you and D all the time, we'll be like a little family!

She gives me a kiss in the cheek and heads out to grab more boxes. Another gong I love about her, it's very rare that she's in a bad mood. She always tries to look at everything from a positive point of view. I peek in on Darien, who's still napping, then I head to help sienna, but then my cell rang and it was the hospital. I figured it was Autumn calling to say she's being admitted again. Ever since she had Darien she was always going in and out of the hospital for all sorts of issues. I answer it, only it's not Autumn on the other end, it's a nurse and she tells me that Autumn just died of a heart attack. I hang up and it feels like I lost a piece of my heart.

Sienna: Hey babe I thought you were- wait what's wrong?

Carnell: Um the hospital just called, Autumn had a heart attack and she didn't make it.

Sienna: pulls him into a hug Carnell I'm so sorry. You know I'm here if you need anything.

Carnell: I'm fine, I just need to make a couple calls, then I think I'm gonna go see her.

Sienna: Do you want me to go with you?

Carnell: I'm fine really, just watch Darien for me please.

I give her a kiss then I head out to my car and everything just sinks in. The girl who once the love of my life, the mother of the child that I'm raising is now dead. I didn't think it would bother me this much but it does. The more I sat in my car the more I thought about all the shit I've been through with Autumn and the more I started to cry.

Today I babysat Raven and Kelly's son Kolby while they worked and I gotta say, he and Kelani get along real well together. I put them in their walkers and gave them some snacks and let them watch Sesame Street then I heard someone at the door.

Bree: Coming!

I open the door and I see it's Raven.

Bree: Hey girl, come in!

Raven: Thanks, today was really rough at the hospital.

Bree: Oh yea, how's the nurse life?

Raven: Very demanding actually, but Bree I heard something today and I think you should know.

Bree: Okay what is it?

Raven: Autumn died today.

Bree: What? Wow, um, do you know if Carnell knows?

Raven:Trust, he does. He showed up after Autumn's mom at the hospital today and let's just say it wasn't easy to watch either one of them.

Bree: Oh my gosh.

Raven: Yea, you should call him tomorrow though, you know give him time to let it sink in a little.

Bree: Definitely

Raven: Thanks for watching Kolby for me today, you're a life saver.

Bree: What flavor?

Raven: laughs Bree you're so corny!

Bree: laughs I know, but seriously it was no problem, he's like my little nephew.

Raven: smiles Well I should head home and start making dinner.

She grabs Kolby and his diaper bag and heads toward the door.

Raven: Thanks again girl!

Bree: No problem!

Once she left I was still in shock about what she told me, I just can't imagine what Carnell is going through right now.

I spent all day with Autumn's family, trying to be supportive when I too was grieving. Her mom was so flustered and couldn't even bare to go look at her daughter's lifeless body. I went in with her and it took everything in me not to cry and to just be strong. After being at the hospital for hours Autumn's family headed back to her mom's house to start planning a service, but it was all too much for me and I had to get out of there. I got back home around 5:30 and I saw Sienna making dinner and Darien was playing on the floor.

Sienna: Hey babe, are you okay?

Carnell: I'm gonna be alright, I just need some time alone right now.

I give Darien a kiss on the cheek then I head back towards the door.

Sienna: Wait where are you going, dinner's almost done?

Carnell: I'm gonna go for a drive.

Kelani had just fell asleep and I heard someone knocking on the door.

Bree: I'm coming!

I open the door and my heart fell to my stomach.

Carnell: I need to talk to you.
