❝sometimes home is a person.❞

grunting as the two girls fret over her slumped form, the raven waves an arm to push the two away, groaning as her hand gets slapped. "stay still." a voice snaps and she raises a brow, head turning to the side to glance at its owner.
it was the heartrender. her mouth pulls up at the sight and as it parts to speak, she winces through her teeth. "yeah, keep sewing me shut and telling me to stay still." her tone isn't unkind but it holds annoyance in it nonetheless.
her vision clears out a bit and she focuses on the wraith eyeing her wounded forearms with a grave look. "Inej." the name falls out in a relieved sigh and she moves to sit up with another wince, back against the mess of pillows, brushing Nina off with a frown as she continues watching the braid wearing girl. "I am so sorry for every-"
"it doesn't matter." Inej cuts in sharply, arms crossed over her chest as she glances aside. she knew where the saint was going with her words. "it's over." Aeya shakes her head. "it's not over until Pekka's gone." she lets out breathlessly, eyes shutting tight when Nina ignores her and goes right back to working on the deep cuts.
the wraith smiles and nods, a reassuring light in her gaze. "and he will be." she lets out, affirming the news to her friend. "cuz I've got my very own saint at my side. I will always be okay."
she can't help the way her heart skips at the words, eyes lowering down as she nods firmly. she catches the sight of her wrapped up side and sighs. always the waist. "he will be." she echoes, tilting her head up to allow the grisha to finish tending to her wound. the latter sighs as she straightens up, reaching for the already bloody napkins she'd tossed on the table and using them to wipe at the dirty skin again. once on the right then again on the left.
a violet eyed gaze keeps following her movements, only shifting when she raises her arm to give her better access to it, hissing slightly when the fabric wraps around it tightly. Nina does the same to the second cut and silently goes to the old looking basin to wash her hands free from the blood. "am I gonna be okay, doctor?" the patient muses, giggling when her friend glares back at her.
"this isn't funny." Nina snaps and the Targaryen only raises her arms in defense, her breath hitching at the movement before she snickers lowly. "it kinda is. I haven't played doctor with you for years now. it's bringing back quite the memories."
her eyes widen as the grisha stamps her way with an angry expression. "don't you dare!" her fingers is waving right in the girl's face. "I thought I'd lose you tonight. when you came in here, bloody and barely conscious, limping in Jesper's arms... I though I'd lose you, truly lose you" the grisha's eyes turn glossy and her face scrunches up as she huffs, brushing a hand over her forehead.
"this isn't funny, Aeya. this isnt some stupid training fight amongst grisha. I don't even know what we're up against here! this is your domain but you are still royalty, you fight wars, you fight magic. not thieves and rapists and low born murderers!" the Targaryen winces at the loud tone and glances aside, now a lot more silent than before. she just nods and watches with a little side eye as Nina walks out the small space in anger.
her gaze flickers to Inej and her lips pull into a tiny smile. "it's still kinda funny." she lets out awkwardly, lips pursed as she lets her attention focus when Kaz's loud voice reaches her ear through the thick walls. her brows furrow in confusion. "what's his deal, now?" she grumbles. the wraith simply eyes the exit with a reluctant shrug.
