❝the axes forget what the trees remember.❞

head tilting in amusement, the Targaryen chuckles as Alina summons a great of burst of energy in front of her, a big star of blue and yellow swirling round before she directs it forward and into one of the dummies meant for training.

it misses by a lot and the Shu girl grumbles in frustration, eyes alit with frustration. "absolute rubbish." she scoffs to no one in particular, lips pulled into a growl.

Tamar chuckles, lips pulled in amusement and the braid wearing black girl glances to her with an unimpressed look. the leather wearing grisha quiets and swallows, lips still lifted into a lazy smirk. "It's the second amplifier." she muses casually, referring to Alina's newer addition.

the silver haired girl pushes off the side and hums, gaze set on the three girls as they walk forward, the blade wielding going further to examine the target that was missed while Nadia tries to comfort the saint.

Aeya was calmly following after them as she looks up to the ceiling, arms stretched over her head as she continues humming a tune under her breath. it'd been a few days since the proposal announcement with the youngest prince and life felt like it was beginning to smile down on her.

she'd went through with Alina's plan and let the twin grishas place the amplifier in her, this time choosing a better spot for it than the first one that was forced down on her. the small Sea Whip bone was merged with her belly button, a pretty accessory more than a weapon. she'd always dreamed of getting a jewel instored years before but never found the chance, her ears were canvas enough.

her magic was now back as it was before, not any more powerful with the amplifiers but restored enough as it used to be. she was still getting used to the power coursing through her veins and the added boost of not one, but two amplifiers.

and unlike Alina, the chaos summoner didn't struggle much as her full abilities have not fully activated themselves yet. she considered herself lucky for the mercenary's poison as it helped her stabilize herself much slower than the sun saint.

she pats her shoulder gently when she jokes about doubting which of them was the true chaos user of the two, considering how her magic has been acting up lately. she smiles sympathetically and her head tilts again.

"you'll get it, Lin."

Nadia grins in agreement. "we will get you there," she promises soothingly before breaking into a smirk as she moves her arms behind her back. "I could hit you with a switch and call you a stupid girl." her eyes widen for emphasis as she echoes Baghra's very distinct accent and way of speaking.

the dragon giggles. "it may come to that." her laugh grows louder as they walk back to keep training and Alina's gaze refuses to meet either as she frowns to herself.

"how is it I'm overwhelmed by the second amplifier and at the same time feeling the lack of a third?" she glances at the three with confused disbelief as they stop walking.

Tamar smiles sympathetically. "for now, let's focus on what we can fix." she teases, eyeing the target with clear amusement. she nods her chin towads it. "your aim, for starters."

the saint scoffs through a chuckle, eyes rolling as she faces it with pursed lips. she sighs. "as leader of the Second Army, I need more." she breathes out in disappointment.

"I need to learn the Cut." her words make the girls frown.

"that was Kirigan's way," Nadia counters softly, accent making her almost sound motherly. "to lead with fear." she clears out, smiling at her warmly. "you can lead with your heart. the Second Army will be better for it."
