4 months later..
Y/n's pov:
The lock on my apartment door turns and before I know it I'm being attacked with a hug coming from my daughter."Hi mama!" She exaims hugging my keg tightly. I smile ruffling her hair.
"Hi angel, how was school?" I ask as she looks up at me her eyes lighting up.
"So fun!" She cheerfully says.
"I'm glad baby." I smile, turning my head to look at the hazel eyes woman who is leaning against a wall in our living room. She flashes me a soft smile, as she admires Jade and I from a far. "Why don't you go put your stuff away?" I say to Jade and she nods, running off to her room.
"Hey, darling." Hailee smiles, pushing herself off the wall and walking closer to me.
"Hi, love." I grin, pressing my lips against hers in a soft kiss. "How was work?"
"Long." She sighs loudly, her head dropping into the crook of my neck.
"Aw, you tired baby?" I ask, scratching her head, her body relaxing at my touch as she nods. "You wanna take a nap?"
"Only if you take it with me." She whispers, my lips tugging into a smile.
"Of course I will." I say. "Jade sweetheart." The child comes running out of her room, now fully changed into her pajamas.
"Yes mama?" She asks, a small yawn coming from her lips.
"You wanna take a nap with Lee and me?" I ask.
"Yes!" The smaller y/h/c girl doesn't even have to think before she gives me that answer. I chuckle at her response and she's already dissapeared into our bedroom.
"C'mon my love, family nap time." Hailee chuckles into my neck before pulling away and laying a soft kiss on my lips, after that we follow Jade's footsteps into our room.
When we enter the room Jade is already situated in the middle of the bed with her teddy bear next to her and the dovet cover over her.
"Come mama." She calls.
Hailee lays down on the right side of Jade while I lay on the left side of her. The toddler snuggles closer towards Hailee, her small body fitting perfectly with the brunettes. Hailee wraps a protective arm around the child whike laying a soft kiss on her head.
"I love you sunshine." Hailee whispers, barely keeping her eyes open.
"I love you too mommy." Jade whispers. Hailee's eyes snap open and she seems mkre awake now then ever. I meet her shocked eyes with my surprised ones. An abundance of tears pool at the bottom of my eyelid.
"She called me mommy." Hailee whispers to me, still in shock. I giggle at her sentence wiping away the tears that somehow escaped despite my efforts to keep them in.
"She did." I smile, scooting closer so Hailee and I are like a cocoon around Jade's body.
"She called me mommy." Hailee repeats again, still in disbelief. She looks at the girl in the middle who is already peacefully sleeping before placing a soft kiss in her hair.
"God, I love you." I say, and Hailee smiles pressing her soft lips against mine. I expected her to be shocked as this is pur first time saying those three words but all I saw was a sparkle of love in her eyes before her lips connected with mine.
"I love you too princess." She whispers and my heart feels so full. So full of love.
Hearing Jade call Hailee mommy has proved to me that i picked the right person to be with. Hailee has been nothing but good to Jade and I. However I have always had a fear of her turning bad, but after hearing those words come from my daughter all those worries have washed away like the tide washes away footprints on the beach.
It finally feels like that the deep seated terror of the mind which Jake left is fading away. And it is being replaced with the most beautiful kind of love. Soft love, never rough but always soft and understanding.
