Chapter 31

Hailee's pov:

"How many bedrooms is this one again?" I ask the woman who's leading me through a nice apartment which is up for sale.

"3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ma'am." She answers as we walk to a spacious kitchen. I look around mesmerized by the marble countertops and the new sleek furniture which is obviously only here for show.

"Feel free to look around and ask any questions miss Steinfeld." I smile at the realtor before walking over to the huge windows, the windows illistrate a busy street of New York below and right opposite the building is Daylight. A huge grin tugs on my face as I think back to when Y/n and I first me. Who knew I would meet the love of my life accidentally in a small caffee?

I stuff my hand in my pocket as I hear my phone ring. My grin doesn't dissapear as I read Y/n's name across my screen.

"Hey pretty lady."

"Hii babyy." She smiles. "I just left work. Meet you at the court house?"

I look down the windows noticing Y/n walk out adjusting a backpack over her shoukder before fixing her hair.

"I'll come get you love, I'm very close." I respond.

"Okayy, I'll wait in front of Daylight."

"I love you, see you soon."

"I love you too."

"Thank you for today." I smile at the realtor behind me as I hang up my phone. "I will definetley keep in contact with you ma'am. I think this is the one."

"Of course miss Steinfeld." She smiles shaking my hand. "Contact me if you have any inquiries."

"I'm nervouse Lee." Y/n whispers as we wait for the judge to enter the courtroom.

"It'll be okay my love." I kiss the top of her head as her head is leaned on my shoulder. I take her hand into mine and softly run a thumb over her hand.

A feeling of someone burning eyes at the side of my head creeps into my senses and I turn my head to the right. Immediately I am met by icey blue eyes, his jaw is clenched tightly as he makes eye contact with me.

I don't look away instead I keep eye contact with him, letting him know he doesn't scare me. His eyes trail down to the girl, resting her head on my shoulder, the blue eyes flash a shade darker as an evil smirk sneaks upon his lips. At this I feel my jaw clench and I pull Y/n impossibly closer to me.

"Baby you okay?" Y/n looks up at me noticing my clenched jaw and quickly following my eyeline to notice Jake's eyes on her. Her body visibly tenses up and she looks away.

"He won't hurt you my love." I whisper. "As long as I'm here no one can hurt you." I place a kiss on her head while keeping eye contact with Jake.

"I love you." Y/n whispers squeezing my hand three times. I smile as I know it's a thing she always does with Jade.

"I love you too." I smile placing yet another kiss on her head making Jake turn his head around with a groan.

"All rise." The officer in the corner commands and we all stand up as the judge enters the courtroom. I keep a hold of Y/n's hand as we stand letting her know I'm right here.

"Jake Delier I sentence you to life in prison with a possibility of parol after 30 years of served time. You will serve your sentence at Washington State Maximum security prison. You have also been stripped of all your parnetal rights to Jade Y/l/n, as well as a lifetime restraining order from Miss Y/n Y/l/n. Court dismissed." The judge says with authority before bringing down the hammer.

Y/n lets out happy tears as she looks at me with a huge smile on her face. She throws herslef in my arms while she cries in my neck. I wrap my arms securely around her rubbing her back comfortingly. A huge grin is on my face as I feel an intense amount of happiness Y/n is finally rid of a huge burden, and all fears of Jake coming back can finally disappear from her mind. A couple of tears pool in my eyes at these thoughts.
