The next morning, right after Zayn and Liam left, Louis handed me a packet. "I almost forgot, that has your schedule and stuff like that. The fun first day paperwork."

I opened it while he went back to organizing his bag, digging through papers to find the one I wanted to look at. "Do I have you?" Louis smiled, not answering, which caused me to roll my eyes "You're no help," I complained, which earned a chuckle.

I finally found my schedule and pulled it out, scanning over the list. "Are you sure this is right?" I asked slowly, looking up at him. I had him for first hour history, then again in third period, then in sixth. I looked up at Louis and smiled widely. "Three classes?"

"One of them is my plan hour, on top of it," Louis added on, pulling me closer to his body. Then there's the new class he started, which included about five kids from each grade (Niall and I were two of the seniors) that helped come up with ideas to implement in the school that would make taking classes and tests easier and help the students graduate. I thought it was a great idea and Zayn helped Louis get it off the ground since Louis hardly has a say of what goes on with how new he is to the school.

"Senior year better be the best year I have in high school." Louis chuckled and kissed the back of my head while pulling my back to his chest. "Seriously, unless we break up, this has to be the best year I'll have in high school."

"And we aren't breaking up anytime soon, so it will be the best year of high school," Louis assured me, a bright smile on his face. He kissed my forehead and then my lips.

The whole drive, we just sang songs at the top of our voices and smiled. As long as we were happy, nothing else mattered. We could get through anything.

We got to the classroom and I sat down, claiming a seat decently close to Louis' desk. I set my things there and then sat on the edge of Louis' desk while he wrote the date and objectives on the white board. I kicked my feet back and forth while watching him, smiling softly.

A few minutes later, Niall popped in the room. "There you are!" he practically yelled.

I smiled at him and hopped off Louis' desk, shrugging. "Yeah, I'm alive."

Niall closed the door, then walked closer. "Where were you yesterday? He showed up," Niall said while motioning towards Louis. Louis turned his head and Niall smiled at him. "If he shows up, you show up. It's not hard to understand. Even when he doesn't show up, you're supposed to."

I looked at Louis for a second, shifting my weight from foot to foot, then took a deep breath and turned my attention back to Niall. "Yeah, so Zayn kinda found out about us," I said slowly, watching Niall's eyes grow. "And I couldn't... act normal, so I went home."

"Wait, are you guys like actually okay?" Niall asked worriedly. "Is he going to say anything?"

"That's the perk of his boyfriend being my best friend. Liam won't let him tell anyone because of how happy we are, and he didn't want to see me like I was after my mom died and we weren't together." I gave Louis a questioning look that he waved off, but I was questioning him at lunch or during his free period. "So no, he's not going to say anything."

"Well, if he needs to hide out at mine, he can," Niall pointed out. I nodded. "Okay, schedule," he demanded right after, holding out his hands for the paper.

I handed it to him after pulling it out of my bag. He scanned over it, glaring at Louis. "How did you get away with getting him for three class periods?"

"I requested him last year as an aide, then that one class, plus history. I mean you have me twice, Niall," Louis chuckled.

"We have the same lunch, thankfully. Otherwise I'd have to kill one of you, and it probably wouldn't have been my best friend." Niall grinned when Louis glared at him. "You're still my favorite history teacher though."

"Yeah, mhmm," Louis hummed, turning around to finish writing on the board.

"Harry," Niall whined, spinning in my direction. "Convince him he's my favorite history teacher."

"Yeah, but that one time-" I ducked when he tried to hit me, then we both broke out into laughter. "Lou!"

He was just shaking his head, laughing. "Break it up, break it up you two."

Niall got off of me. "You're lucky I don't want detention. If I'm the only one my punishment will be worse than if there were a ton of kids."

I rolled my eyes and went to hit Niall when he mimicked Louis and I making out. "Oh shut up!"

Niall dodged it and started laughing. I looked to Louis for back up, but he was laughing too. "Louis! Stop laughing!" I complained, pouting for a half second.

He didn't and I started laughing after trying to be mad. The bell rang and we all stopped. I frowned. "Nooo, not school."

"Yes, school. Now sit down," Louis said as he went to open the door.

I smirked and crossed my arms. "Yes, Mr. Tomlinson." Louis raised an eyebrow which made my smile grow more.

"Oh god," Niall groaned, rubbing his face. He shook his head as he sat down next to me, muttering something about it being a long year.

After second period I was back in Louis' room. I closed the door right after I got in the room and walked over to his desk. "Hey, Lou."

"Hey, baby." Louis quickly finished typing something into his computer then opened his arms after standing. "How's it going?"

I smiled as I moved to his grip, relaxing as his arms tightened around me. "Pretty good. I'm glad I have you so much."

"Me too," Louis grinned and kissed me softly. "A whole hour of just us."

"Can I ask you something about what you said earlier?" I asked after a slight pause.

"Course." Louis nodded and brushed some of my hair out of my face, then tracing my jaw with one of his fingers.

"How long were you here before coming back to school?"

Louis shrugged, looking away for a second. We hadn't ever brought anything to do with the breakup or really even his mom back up at all because it was such a sore spot for the both of us, but I wanted to know. Maybe it made me selfish, but I didn't care. We were open with each other, he wouldn't really have a reason to lie. "Three days. I stayed with Liam because that was before him and Zayn moved in together. And me being a complete mess is putting it lightly. I didn't want to be alone, not where you should have been but weren't, and when Liam found it all out, he refused to let me be alone."

I chewed on my lip. "You could have called me. I didn't want you to be hurting, Lou. I was just trying to give you whatever it was you needed."

Louis kissed my neck and then sat down, pulling me into his lap. "I know, baby. But that wouldn't have been fair of me and we both know it."

"Space wasn't any better," I mumbled, looking at him. "I hated not being together."

Louis smiled and kissed my cheek while rubbing my arms lightly. "We're together now, yeah? Just try not to focus on that anymore." I nodded and leaned my head onto his shoulder. I never quite understood how we both fit in his small desk chair, but for school, Louis holding me right here was my favorite part. I always felt protected in his arms, even though I was starting to get taller than him. No matter what, I knew Louis would keep me protected.

We got back into our normal routine quickly. Did it suck? Yes, but we only had a year left, then we could really do whatever we want.

Third period was just like staying after school, but with more chances to get caught since some teachers had to talk to him. Sometimes he had to go sub for a class, and I usually stayed in his room instead, playing on my phone. Or actually helping him by putting grades in even though I really shouldn't do that. I don't change anyone's grades though, for better or worse.
