Louis,” Johannah called. I looked up from the weird shopping game I was doing with Pheoby and Daisy to see Louis walking out of the kitchen, not amused. I stood up as he walked past, Johannah entering the living room. “Louis,” She called again, much more stern this time.

He didn't look back before walking out the front door. I walked over to Johannah after glancing at the entryway, grabbing her arm gently. “What's going on?” I asked once I turned to face her again.

She stared at the door for a few seconds before she closed her eyes. “Just Louis being Louis. I just tried talking to him about some things. It's fine.” She opened her eyes and smiled at me before patting my hand lightly. She coughed a few times before shaking her head to herself.

I nodded slowly and stepped back, looking at the entryway. I walked over and opened the door, seeing Louis leaning against the house a few feet away. His arms were crossed and he looked annoyed with his eyes closed. I almost hesitated but ultimately decided to go over. I closed the door and walked over to him, causing him to open his eyes.

“Hey,” he said, holding onto my hand when I extended it. He tried to force a smile but it dropped quickly.

“What's wrong?” I asked quietly. I used my free hand to push hair some of his hair from his eyes. “Tell me, please?” I added on when he didn't say anything.

“I’m okay, love,” he promised. “I just didn't agree with what she was telling me. I didn't want to start anything, so I came out here.”

I gave him the look he always gave me when he wasn't happy with my answer. Louis looked down, avoiding my gaze. I closed my eyes until the count of three and opened them again. When Louis hasn't moved I sighed. “Okay.”

It annoyed me whenever Louis shut me out. I wanted to be able to help him and not make him think that he's just going to stress me out more. I wanted to do what he always does for me, but I wasn't going to force the answer out of him, either. If he wasn't going to tell me then I was going to let it go and go back inside.

Louis looked up when I started to step back, holding onto my hand when I started pulling it away. “It's just…” he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “She's telling me that us living together isn't the smartest move right now and I know it's not the smartest, but it's the best option that we have. You can't get your own place yet, I won't let you go back to your parents. Staying with me is the best option.”

I brushed leaned forward and kissed him, barely pulling back when I needed to breathe. “We're gonna be okay.” I lifted our hands, the promise ring on my finger. He immediately looked at it, a small smile forming on his face. “We can make it through anything, okay? I'm getting a job and it's all gonna work out. If it makes things easier, we can say I just moved to the same complex as you when I moved out of my parents’ house.”

Louis barely nodded. “We're gonna make it work,” he whispered after a slight pause.

“Exactly.” I kissed him again, letting go of his hand to wrap my arms around his neck. “You and I, no matter what.”

“You and I,” he whispered back, hugging me tightly. “Nothing will separate the two of us.”

“Nothing,” I echoed. “I love you.”

“I love you.” He nodded when I looked back up at him, so we went back inside. He walked behind me, one of his hands on the small of my back.

We went and sat on the couch, Louis wrapping his arm around my waist when I leaned into him. “You should keep painting your nails,” Louis commented, looking at my hands. “If you want.”

“Really?” I asked, looking at the deep blue that Lottie dotted with a lighter blue. “I might, but I have no idea how anyone at school gonna react or anything else.”

“Their opinions, besides Niall's, doesn't matter. If you want to paint your nails, no one should stop you from doing it, okay?” He kissed the side of my head. I nodded and leaned into him, closing my eyes. “You should do whatever you want.”

I smiled and nodded. I took a deep breath as I nuzzled my head into his chest. “You're always warm.”

“You're always snuggly, what's your point?” I grinned and chuckled. Louis tightened his grip for a few seconds before going back to how it was before.

“We're flying back tomorrow, aren't we?” I asked. Louis nodded, his fingers slowly trailing up and down my arm.

“Thankfully it's not an early flight,” Louis said. I nodded in agreement. “Then we have one more day before school starts up again.”

“Well, I mean if you ask me,” I said, “I think this was a pretty good spring break.”
