I hated when school started again and Louis had to go. It meant I only saw him from about five to eight, when visiting hours are over, instead of all day like he could before. Him being gone gave me plenty of time to willingly do the work Louis claims to bring for me to do later. If I could understand it, I worked on it. I didn't need to out myself any further behind than I already was.

One of my favorite nurses, Diana, came in and looked at my assignment, then my chart. "English?" I nodded and she wrote some things down. "Chest?"

"It doesn't hurt too much anymore. I know as soon as we start P.T., that's going to change, but for now it's good."

She asked her normal rounds of questions, then walked to the door and shut it slowly. "How much older is Louis?"

"Not much... Why?" I asked. I knitted my eyebrows together. I didn't like this. I didn't like this at all.

"Do you feel... Safe with him?" She asked. I stared at her, my mouth dropping open. "I just want the best for you, and to make sure you're safe. It's my job, Harry."

"I love him, he loves me. This happened at school, or do you think I'm lying? Last time I checked, I got picked up from the school." I closed my eyes. I was going somewhere I didn't need to go. "I know he's older. I know people find it a little weird, but if we take care of each other, does it really matter?"

She smiled as she walked to the door. "That's all I needed to hear, Harry."

I smiled a little as she left, then went back to the poetry I was reading. I still hated English, but after working with it a bit more and reading more, I was staring to understand it better.

Louis came in early, smiling at me. "Half day," he explained before I could ask. "So I brought you lunch."

"You're the best," I cheered, reaching for the bag of greasy deliciousness.

Louis just laughed as I grabbed the bag from his hand and pulled it into my lap. "And I made sure the fries were fresh too, don't worry."

"This is why I love you." Louis beamed at me before pulling the chair besides my bed closer and kissing me.

"How are you, though?" Louis asked. I shrugged as I took a bite of the burger. "What's wrong?"

I want to go home. I wish I didn't need help to go to the bathroom. My leg and chest hurts beyond belief almost all of the time. I wanted to curl up and shrink away. "Just this. I'm okay." Even I could tell I was lying. Some random person who heard that alone would know I was lying.

Louis grabbed my hand. "Look, baby. I still love you. You're going to get better, you're going to walk again, and you're going to get back to your everyday life. I know it's hard and you feel stuck, but it's barely been two weeks, yeah?"

"It's only been two weeks," I repeated softly with a nod. He always knew how to calm me down. "How's Niall?"

"More annoying without you than with you, if that's even possible," Louis chuckled. "But he loves you, he misses you, and he's kidnapping you whenever you're up for it." He squeezed my hands. "But you know he can come over whenever you want, too."

"I know, I'll invite him over a few days after we're home. I miss our bed. I hate this one." Louis laughed and I smiled. "How's school?"

"Everyone in first and sixth hour misses you. All classes basically have zero homework. They're kind of scared, knowing that you got hurt, but most of them are more worried about how you're doing since you were the only one who got hurt."

"I was the only one?" I asked in an even tone. Louis nodded slowly and I let out a long breath. "Good. I didn't want..." I trailed off and wiped my face as tears began to form and fall. "I didn't want to be the hero, but I didn't want anyone else-" A hiccup cut me off and Louis kissed my forehead.

"Niall told them that. He made that very clear to them. He knows you, a lot."

"He's practically my brother," I smiled and sniffled. "God, I miss him."

"He'll come bug you soon, baby. Don't worry." Louis kept talking to me until one of the nurses came in to say he had to leave.

I kissed him and then pressed my forehead to his. "I can't wait to come home," I whispered. "I hate sleeping by myself. I hate being alone in general right now."

Louis kissed my forehead. "I can't wait for you to come home either," he whispered softly. "One second, kay?"

Louis walked over to the nurse, who looked over her shoulder and waved a doctor over. They all talked for a few minutes, then Louis came back over to me.

"I can stay tonight with you," he informed me. I hesitated. "I thought you'd want that.

"I do, but school tomorrow and it won't be good sleep-" I started to ramble, but Louis cut me off.

"It's fine. I'll be fine. Let me stay, please?" Louis batted his eye lashes and pouted his lips. I moved over and Louis climbed into the bed, carefully cradling me to his chest.

"I love you." I took a deep breath of his scent and closed my eyes. "I love you so much."

"I love you," he whispered, kissing the top of my head. "Get some sleep, baby.

It didn't take long for me to fall asleep. Normally, I was tossing and turning until at least one or two in the morning, but this time, I fell asleep not long after Louis started to hold me.
