In about the middle of class, while Zayn was walking around to make sure we were taking notes, he put a sticky note on my desk and kept walking. I grabbed it and read it quickly before crumbling it up.
Will has a meeting after work but it'll only take a few minutes.
I could deal with that. It would take closer to an hour, but I was fine with that. We finished up the notes faster than his other classes, so we got free time for the rest of the period since we would still be ahead by tomorrow. Niall turned to me. "So you and Will good now?"
I nodded. "Stupid rumors again."
"They'll stop somehow," Niall muttered under his breath. I glanced at him and sighed. "Any plans?"
"Meeting apparently, so I'll be free for an hour, but then we're going home." I talked my fingers on the desk. "I'm hungry, though."
"Borrow his car and let's go get food. I'm starving." I rolled my eyes, but nodded. Niall was always hungry, it wasn't anything new.
After class, I ran to Louis' room and caught him before he left but after his class was gone. "Can I borrow your car for food?"
He handed me the keys without a word. After a second of me just standing in the same spot once I had the keys, he said, "I'm sorry, Hazza."
"You're fine. I'm hoping on less than an hour, so you'll be okay, babe," I told him. I kissed his cheek quickly and met Niall in the hallway. "Let's go."
Niall and I climbed in the car and I began driving. "How are you and Malcolm?" I asked.
"We're great. River isn't worried about me anymore, which is a huge relief. I love him, dude."
"Aww, little Niall's finally in love," I teased as we pulled into the McDonald's parking lot and got in the drive thru line. "That's great."
"He wants to hang out with you sometime, and I'll make sure that River is cool, okay?" I nodded and Niall smiled. "What are you getting?"
"I'm getting a soda, fries and probably two things of nuggets. Louis' is gonna want some." I inched my way to the place where you order.
"I want a burger. And fries. That sounds good." I rolled my eyes at him as we finally got to order. I ordered for both of us and Niall gave me the money for his order.
By the time we got back to the school, Louis was out of the meeting and in his classroom. I texted Louis that we were here and Niall climbed into the back while I moved to the passenger side. Louis came out and climbed in the driver's side before pulling out of the lot.
"I got you nuggets," I told him, handing them to him. Louis smiled and grabbed them, then dropped Niall off at his house.
"How was the meeting?" I asked him.
"They're happy with test scores going up. Teachers are getting more questions in class from students who don't normally ask questions. This is helping a lot, and they're not happy with the amount of work, but most of them are happy to give you guys that support."
"Are you the reason we're getting bigger homework assignments, but less of them? Like the ones that take a few days but we only have one or two a week?" Louis nodded and I smiled. "I like those a lot. They make me think about everything more."
"It makes you apply what you know, instead of just memorizing it, which is pointless. In the future you don't have to remember half of what we teach you unless you're going to specialize in it. But now, you're applying it, seeing how it actually works, and it helps you chose what you want to do and what other subjects are going to connect with it."
I nodded. "I love it, babe."
"I know you do. I'm glad I'm getting support on it. I thought they would try to fight it more since it required more money, but they actually forced the football team to reuse uniforms instead of buying completely new ones. They made cuts where cuts actually need to be made. A few of them, anyway. Maybe not all, bit it's a start."
I smiled. Louis was passionate about this. It made me smile, a lot. I loved when he got like this. I loved how much he cared. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably be at home, a drop out, trying to work as much as possible to move out in my own. Some days I didn't know where I would even be without that boy at all.
"Louis, you saved my life. I don't know where I would be without you, but I'm glad I have you now. I just need you to know that."
Louis looked at me and grabbed my hand. "I love you, baby. You saved mine, too. You saved mine."
