The day had arrived, and the tension in the air was palpable as all the students boarded the massive cruise ship that would take us to the island for the special survival exam. The mood on the ship was a mix of excitement and nervous energy. Everyone was smiling, chatting, and trying to relax, but deep down, we all knew this wasn’t just a vacation. It was going to be a real test of our survival skills.
I stood by the deck, gazing out at the endless expanse of the ocean. It’s just like I expected. I knew what was coming. The survival exam on the island was going to test more than just physical endurance—it would test leadership, strategy, and trust. I was prepared.
“Hey, you alright?” Ayanokoji’s voice came from behind me.
I turned, giving him a nod. “I’m fine. Just thinking about the exam. It’s going to be tough, but we’ll make it.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You seem pretty confident.”
I smirked. “Because I’ve thought this through. If we plan well and work as a team, we’ll survive this easily.”
As the ship sailed closer to the island, everyone began to focus more, realizing the fun part of the trip was about to end. Soon, the ship anchored, and the teachers instructed us to prepare to disembark. We were given our practice clothes to change into, and after everyone changed, we gathered on the beach, facing the thick jungle ahead.
The island was huge, covered with dense trees and unfamiliar terrain. The teachers stood before us, explaining the rules once again.
“You are to survive on this island for one week,” one of the instructors announced. “You must secure food, water, and shelter. Additionally, you must protect your leader card at all costs. If your leader card is stolen, your class will lose points. If you uncover the identity of another class’s leader, you will also gain points.”
Everyone nodded along, tension in their eyes. The rules were simple, but surviving in this kind of environment would be anything but easy. I already knew that I had to ensure my class would not just survive, but dominate.
After the briefing, we were handed our leader card. Without hesitation, the class gave it to me.
“You’ve been leading us well,” Kei said, smiling slightly. “We trust you to do this.”
I accepted the card with a nod. “I won’t let us down. But remember, this isn’t just about me. We need to work together.”
We quickly divided tasks. Food, water, and shelter were our top priorities. I instructed Ionopoly and the others to set up a base near the river for easy access to water. Using what I knew from survival techniques, I guided everyone in setting up a proper shelter using materials from the forest. I also had to address one of the most uncomfortable topics—preparing a toilet for the girls. I made sure it was in a safe, private location and ensured everyone was comfortable with the arrangements.
The first few days went smoothly. We gathered food from the island, boiled water from the river to make it safe to drink, and used our resources wisely. I knew this island like the back of my hand, and I made sure to lead the group with precision. By the fifth day, everyone was praising my leadership.
“Honestly, I didn’t think we’d make it this far without any problems,” Sudo said, wiping sweat from his brow. “You’re doing a hell of a job leading us.”
Kei nodded in agreement. “Yeah, you’ve been amazing. We wouldn’t have lasted this long without you.”
I smiled. “Thanks, but it’s not over yet. We still have a couple more days, so stay focused.”
After a few moments as we were resting around the campfire, we heard footsteps approaching. A figure emerged from the shadows—it was a girl from Class C, Ibuki. She looked exhausted, her face pale as she stumbled toward us.
