The sports festival had come to a victorious close for our class, and the air buzzed with excitement. Sudo, triumphant from winning every game he participated in, grinned widely as he spotted Onodera. Without a second thought, he reached out and pulled her into a jubilant hug. “We did it, Onodera! We smashed this festival!” he said, his voice ringing with pride.

Onodera, caught off guard, felt her cheeks flush a deep red as she struggled to find her voice. “Y-Yeah, we did,” she finally managed, returning his smile with a shy one of her own.

Their moment made was very admirable and that how far they’d come as partners and friends. It was clear that their bond had grown beyond just being classmates; they were a team in every sense of the word.

After that they joined the maid café as guards so that the girls weren't disturbed by the boys and they were having fun doing this job. Observing their dynamic, I couldn’t help but feel proud of how far they had come as a team.

After our shift, Ayanokoji and I decided to explore the festival grounds. The stalls were alive with energy, and laughter echoed in the halls. When we stumbled upon the haunted house, we couldn’t resist going in. Asahina, dressed in ghostly attire, jumped out with an exaggerated “Boo!” only to frown when neither of us flinched.

“Seriously, not even a flinch? You two are really hopeless,”she said, half-pouting

“Seriously, not even a flinch? You two are really hopeless,”she said, half-pouting. We shared a chuckle, and she teased, “You two are always glued together, huh?” before we left, exchanging knowing smiles.

We continued on, enjoying the festival’s vibrant atmosphere until we encountered Ichika. She stood apart, eyes downcast, a hint of unease in her stance. Ayanokoji’s brows furrowed slightly. “Is something wrong?” he asked, his voice devoid of emotion but sharp enough to probe. She glanced at us, gave a faint shake of her head, and left before we could press further.

A few moments later, I received a message from an unknown student relaying Yagami’s request for me to meet him in the student council room. Curiosity piqued, I excused myself from Ayanokoji and headed over.

Yagami was already there when I entered. He wore a polite smile, but something felt off. “Horkita-senpai, thank you for coming,” he said, gesturing to a seat.

“What’s this about, Yagami?” I asked, maintaining an indifferent tone.

“We need to discuss certain matters about class dynamics,” he began, but I could tell he was testing the waters. As we exchanged dialogue, I turned briefly to glance at a document on the desk. That’s when I heard it—the subtle clinking of glass behind me.

I spun around, eyes widening as Ibuki suddenly appeared, holding Yagami from behind. Yagami’s face was twisted in frustration, and in his hand, a shattered glass bottle gleamed ominously. “What is going on here?” I demanded, my heart pounding.

Ibuki’s voice was steady. “He was about to attack you. I came by in time to stop it.”

Yagami’s eyes flashed as he spat out, “Nonsense. This is ridiculous!” He struggled, but Ibuki’s grip was iron.

Just as he was about to break free, the door swung open, and Nagumo stepped in, his eyes narrowing at the scene. “What’s happening here?” His tone was sharp, demanding order.

Yagami tried to falsely accuse us both for assaulting him. But Nagumo's expression didn't change “Enough with the act, Yagami. I knew everything you have done so far. And you were also spreading false rumors about me to ruin my reputation. Am I wrong?” he said with a stern expression.

Yagami’s confident expression faltered as he looked between us. The tension mounted further when Mashima-sensei along with Ryuen stepped in. Their commanding presence made the room still, while Ryuen’s eyes gleamed with dark amusement. “Yagami, you were the one who severely injured some of my classmates during the island exam which resulted in losing our class points. Am I right?,” Ryuen said, voice dripping with menace.

Yagami’s response was immediate. He surged forward, knocking both Ibuki and Mashima-sensei aside in a moment of desperate strength. Before he could escape, Ryuen blocked the doorway, a dangerous smirk on his face. “And here I thought today would be boring.”

Yagami’s eyes darted around wildly, but before he could make another move, Ichika appeared from the shadows, gripping his arm firmly. “Stop this, Yagami,” she said, voice low but resolute.

Realizing he was cornered, Yagami’s demeanor shattered. “It was all Ayanokoji! He’s behind this all of this!” he screamed, his eyes wide and frenzied. His voice cracked as he cursed, “Horikita, Ayanokoji,Ichika—I’ll make you all pay!” Three guards burst into the room, restraining him as he continued to struggle and yell, the noise echoing down the hall until he was finally taken away and Ichika also went with him.

The room fell silent. I took a deep breath, letting the weight of the moment sink in. A major threat had been dealt with, at least for now. And later I got to know Yagami was expelled from school.

Later, the results of the festival were announced:

1. 1st Place: Sakayanagi’s Class

2. 2nd Place: Our Class

3. 3rd Place: Ryuen’s Class

4. 4th Place: Ichinose’s Class

A ripple of joy swept through our class. Cheers and congratulatory pats filled the room. I sought out Ayanokoji to tell him what had happened. He listened quietly, nodding as I finished. “I had a feeling something like this might happen,” he said, his tone matter-of-fact. The way he said it almost made me laugh.

Just then, Chabashira-sensei appeared, her eyes scanning me with an uncharacteristic hint of worry and concern. “Horikita, are you alright?” she asked.

I offered her a small grin. “I’m fine sensei. And btw your performance as a maid was pretty much a showstopper today,” I teased.

She rolled her eyes, muttering, “I am never becoming a maid again,” but a faint smile hinted at her amusement.

That night, as I lay on my bed being exhausted, the day’s chaos replayed in my mind. But instead of anxiety, I felt a rare sense of contentment. We had faced a challenge and emerged stronger and our. With that thought, I drifted into a deep sleep, a smile still lingering on my lips.
