The aftermath of Yamauchi’s expulsion left a somber air in Class C. Sudo and Ike were visibly affected, their spirits dampened by losing a close friend. Still, with time and subtle encouragement from Hirata and the rest of us, they managed to push through their grief and focus on what lay ahead.

The following day, Chabashira-sensei entered the room with a serious expression. “A special exam has been announced,” she began. “Two classes will compete against each other in 10 activities of their choosing. The losing class’s representative will face expulsion unless they possess a protection point.”

Whispers erupted among the students, concern washing over their faces. After a tense discussion, the class unanimously decided that Ayanokoji should be our representative due to his protection point.

After a meeting which included all representative of all 1st year classes and homeroom teachers, the matches were decided-Class A vs Class C and Class B vs Class D.

That evening, I met Ayanokoji in the hallway, and we decided to confront Sakayanagi. We found her waiting in the school’s common area, her signature confident smirk in place.

I crossed my arms. “We know what you’ve been up to this far, Sakayanagi. But this time, things won’t go your way.”

Before she could respond, Tsukishiro, the acting chairman, appeared, his presence exuding authority. “What a gathering we have here,” he said mockingly, eyes narrowing at Ayanokoji. In a swift movement, he kicked Sakayanagi’s cane, making her stumble. I instinctively reached out and caught her before she could fall.

“Tsukishiro!” Ayanokoji said, a flicker of surprise crossing his usually calm features.

“Leave this school, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka,” Tsukishiro threatened, his voice cold and calculating. “If you don’t, I’ll make sure you’re expelled during this exam.”

Sakayanagi straightened, glaring at him with defiance. “You’ve gone too far, acting chairman.”

I looked Tsukishiro in the eye, my tone firm. “We won’t let you get away with this.”

Tsukishiro smirked before turning away. “We’ll see,” he said as he walked off, leaving a tense silence in his wake.

After a moment, Ayanokoji simply nodded. “I’ll be careful.”

Sakayanagi, regaining her composure, glanced at him. “Be prepared. This won’t be an ordinary exam.”

With a shared understanding, we discussed the upcoming challenges before parting ways, each of us preparing for what would be a battle not just for victory, but survival.
