chapter 24: " rec "

October 1st, 17:12

"Did you record it?" Da-hye asked Hyein who was secretly filming the two interacting with eachother. "Shhh!" Kaylee shushed her, earning an eye roll from Da-hye. "They're in denyment" seowon couldn't help but start giggling at the stuff going on across the kitchen. "I don't want her to date that damn lampshade" Da-hye rolled her eyes earning a nudge from Kaylee. "They fit perfectly, shut up" she argued. "Girl, That's my sister right there" Da-hye responded. "So what?" Seowon whispered as she scooted closer to Da-hye. "She deserves someone better, not a six foot tall asshole" Da-hye clicked her tongue after the statement. "Bro you're not the one dating him, let your sister romanticize" Hyein was trying to record quietly but the girls kept muttering and whispering. "My sister needs someone decent if he's gonna be my brother-in-law" Da-hye stated. Hyunjin wasn't decent nor was he normal. He was literally the burning option for Y/n, well it's not my place to say.

"Girl, he's tall, he looks damn rich what else is he missing?" Seowon asked. The girls kept bickering."some damn MANNERS" Da-hye spelled it out loud enough for the Y/n to turn her head over quickly as Hyein acted like she was taking a selfie. "Girls look at the camera" Hyein lifted the phone up, the phone was literally just recording the ceiling as Hyein sighed. She stopped recording before going back to conversation. "I'm going to smash your face in your birthday cake Da-hye" She threatened. "I'm in, you almost got us caught" Kaylee tilted her head and tempered. "I'll kick you guys out if you do" Da-hye rolled her eyes. "We ain't leaving girl" Seowon shook her head, leaning back on the chair.

"Did you cut the cookies?" Y/n sparked up a conversation as Hyunjin nodded. "I'm so good at this, you're gonna wanna take your sentence from earlier back" Hyunjin stared at the cookies he cut circles around. Y/n came over to check them out before her eyes dilated at the sight. Crumbs everywhere and it looked like a world war had happened between the cookies. "You fuc- gosh can't you even cut properly???" Y/n tempered. "No one's eating these cookies they look like they were made for Halloween" Y/n tempered as she placed them on a plate, emptying the pan.

"Isn't that good?" Hyunjin asked, earning a glare from Y/n. "Guess not" Hyunjin raised an eyebrow. Y/n shook her head as she went ahead and opened the oven to take the cookies out. "Stop, stop, stop" Hyunjin sped over to her, grabbing her wrist and pulling it away from the oven. Y/n's eyes dilated at the sudden action as her ears started heating up. "What?" Y/n could barely get her words out. "You're going to burn yourself again" Hyunjin tilted his head as he stated it. He led Y/n by her wrist before outstretching his arm to grab the glove as he gently placed it in Y/n's hand. "Why do you care?" Y/n tried to act irritated as she tried her best to not wobble when walking towards the oven. She turned the oven off and took the last pan of cookies out. They turned out perfect and it satisfied Y/n. She placed them on the counter to let it cool before walking towards the table where the girls were sitting on.

"That was hard to look at.." Da-hye raised her eyebrows at the scene. "Shut up Da-hye you're ruining the mood" Hyein nudged her again. "Why am i the only one getting attacked?" Da-hye crossed her arms. "Cause you're the only one against this" Seowon responded before Y/n made it to their table. "If you girls are done eating, I did bring a karaoke machine, you can open gifts while singing if you want" Y/n smiled earning nods and shocked eyes from the girls because of the karaoke machine.
The girl's smiled excitingly as they made it to the living where the karaoke machine was, along with eleven other presents wrapped near it, Da-hye's eyes widened at the amount of gifts there was as they went ahead and turned the machine on.

"I'll refill the snacks for you guys then" Y/n smiled before walking to the kitchen and grabbing a large bowl as she poured chips in, she set the bowl aside as she grabbed a tray and poured four glasses of apple juice. She grabbed a small plate, placing it on the tray and filling it up with cookies.

Hyunjin sneaked up from behind her, his had reaching out to the plate and quickly grabbing a cookie. Y/n noticed the gesture before she quickly turned her head to Hyunjin. "Hey!" She yelled at him, Hyunjin quickly took a single bite before speeding towards the living room with the bitten cookie in his hand as the girls watched in confusion.

"It's just a single cookie" Hyunjin defended himself, "yeah, and I didn't bake that for you" Y/n rolled her eyes. "I'll pay for them then" Hyunjin smiled as he munched on the cookies. "No thanks, I'm not desperate for money" Y/n clearly wasn't thirsting over money, especially coming from the pity of Hyunjin.

"Sis you should just kick him out" Da-hye stated, every single one of her friends looked at her in disbelief as Hyein nudged and Kaylee clicked her tongue.

"Hey, hey, watch your mouth, I helped with these decorations" Hyunjin blurted, Y/n eyes widened at the statement. The fact that he had came over yesterday was supposed to be kept to himself and not let outside.

"When the- wait. Did you bring him over yesterday sis?" Da-hye got confused as she furrowed her eyebrows,

"No"
"Yes"

They said it out at the same time, Y/n looked at Hyunjin with disbelief in her eyes. The girl's jaw dropped as their eyes dilated in a second. Da-hye in shock as Hyunjin and Y/n started at eachother. "I had to pay him back with a meal, turns out it was dark outside so he offered me a ride." Y/n explained it to her sister quickly. She didn't want to get accused of dating him.  "And he came in?" Da-hye asked, still in shock. "I don't remember anything, just enjoy your gifts and shut up" Hyunjin cut in as Da-hye rolled her eyes before her friends handed her the presents as she slowly started unpacking them. Y/n sat down on the separate sofa made for a single person as she placed the plate on the arm rest, munching on the small part of the cookie.

She took her phone out as notifications beeped from it.

Cho_miyeon: Y/n, do u have time tomorrow? xx

yninn: yeah, where at and what time?"

Forever_young: the girls agreed at my house, I'll send you my location

yninn: alright

She shut her phone, placing the phone on the arm rest as Hyunjin's gaze fixated on Y/n.

"Thank you!!" Da-hye thanked all of them before outstretching her arms to grab the giant presents, gifted by Hyunjin. The boxes were wrapped in an ivory wrapper with pink bows on them.

She carefully unwrapped it, setting the wrapping to the side as she opened the box, revealing four giant squishmallows. Da-hye's eyes widened at the sight before she grabbed one up and looked at it, trying her best to keep her smile in. "And I thought you had matured" Hyunjin scoffed as he saw the excited expression on Da-hye's face, along with the girls that watched Da-hye with happiness glinted on their eyes as they saw their friend happy.

"I didn't say I liked them" Da-hye rolled her eyes, earning a tongue click from Y/n. "At least thank him" she scolded Da-hye, "thank you" Da-hye thanked him. Hyunjin just smiled at her. "You didn't have to" he responded. Da-hye ignored his response before grabbing the other box and slowly unwrapping it, revealing a shoe box with the words "uggs" on it. Da-hye's eyes glinted with excitement as she opened the lid revealing the mini ugg boots in chestnut color. The girls watched in awe, happy for their friend as Da-hye couldn't help but smile brightly. Hyunjin didn't even want a thank you after seeing the expression on her face.
