There went on another day with Y/n preparing food in the kitchen whilst her parents watched TV with apple peels laid out on the table chaotically.

The dishes flooding the more food Y/n tried to make as Da-hye came down the stairs and stared at the living room and rhe mess inside it before she threw her backpack next to the door and stormed into the kitchen. "I really wish she never came back" she scoffed, turning the tap on as she started washing the dishes.

"You say that but you fell asleep on the couch with her" Y/n chuckled. "She's only good use for sleeping--"

"Don't say that, it's rude" Y/n interrupted her. Not wanting any gossip around them as she cracked two more eggs into the pan right next to the sausages.

"So them sitting and doing nothing on the couch isn't? I'd understand dad, he never knew how to cook but why is the lady not doing anything? Is she afraid she'll scratch her wrist or something?" Da-hye scoffed, rolling her eyes as she applied more gel into the sponge before washing the dishes harshly.

"Hey hey, just because I'm like thus doesn't mean you should be the second version of me" Y/n grabbed a bowl from the cabinet, chopping the fruits and mixing them in one bowl.

"Just be yourself, keep your cheerful self" Y/n sighed to herself before she set everything on the table.

"I'll try" Da-hye responded, not knowing what kind of expression she should be showing as she finished washing the dishes. The door bell rang, the sound echoing through the living room.

"Get the door!" Y/n's father yelled. Da-hye rolled her eyes before rushing to the door and swinging it open, revealing the taller one, holding a beautiful pair of bouquets. He wore a navy sweater with grey sweatpants, not trying too hard. But to seem normal instead of too rich.

"Who is it?" Y/n's father asked again, still not getting his ass off the couch. "Sister's boyfriend" Da-hye responded which caused their father to shot up a she sat up from the couch and stood up.

"You didn't bring me a flower? You know that I'm also a part of the family" Da-hye's eyes fell between the two bouquets.

"Seong's taking care of that" Hyunjin rolled his eyes, briefly coming inside as it revealed the shorter boy behind him.

"Hi, my brother asked me to tag along .." He stood there shyly. Holding white roses.

"I get the kind of mess you're in" Da-hye chuckled before letting him inside.

"I had no idea my daughter was dating someone like Mr.Hwang's son! How come you chose her?" The lady rebelled on, everyone in the table expect for her husband annoyed.

"she stood out too much, I thought that I had to snatch her up before anyone else could" Hyunjin smiled, but they never reached his eyes.

"Oh? I doubt anyone was willing to do so, haha" the lady joked, trying to hide the sentence behind a laugh as no one laughed along.

"That's because she never seeked for attention" Hyunjin disguised his anger with come backs.

"very clever" the woman smiled fakely. Grinning from ear to ear before her eyes landed go the corner of the table where Y/n sat, unbothered by the atmosphere as she bit down on her bread. "Y/n, could you bring me a spoon?"

"I'll--" Da-hye made a movement out the table before being cut off.

"It's fine" Y/n stood up, leaving the table as she walked over to the kitchen, realizing there were no clean spoons so she had to wash one.

Whilst she took the time to do so, Hyunjin glanced back at her mother. "So--" she tried to continue with her stupid questions.

"Mrs. Nam, I came here to ask for Y/n's hand before I propose" Hyunjin spoke, her face dimming down. She didn't know whether it was jealousy rising within her since she never had that type of life nor love.

"Oh?" Mr Nam smiled. "That's completely fine, son." He felt pleased by the actions of his son-in-law. Da-hye had dropped the fork down on her plate the moment Hyunjin uttered the word proposal as Seong flinched at the loud sound and glanced over at Da-hye. "Quiet" he warned her, nudging her on the feet.

"So may I?" Hyunjin asked, finishing his food as he placed the fork down before gathering the plates of Seong and Da-hye who were finished with their food before he stood up. "You have my approval, that's all you need" Mr Nam smiled as Hyunjjn smiled, pleasant with the answer as he walked into the kitchen, placing the dishes in the sink as he turned the tap on whilst Y/n gave the spoon to her mother and went back to the kitchen as she saw Hyunjin grabbing the sponge. "You know how to do chores?" Y/n smiled at the sight as Hyunjin scoffed.

"What kind of person do you take me for?" He chuckled, the loud noise from the renovation opposite their house stirking loudly.

"Gosh, they're so fucked up. A giant ass mansion in this small neighborhood, are they trying to laugh at our face?" Y/n rolled her eyes, pushing Hyunjin aside as she started scrubbing the plates thoroughly, afraid that Hyunjin couldn't do it right.

"I was doing it"

"I can handle it love" Y/n glanced over to him.

"Say it again" Hyunjin smirked, loving the tone.

"Shut up" Y/n chuckled as she washed the dishes one by one. Firstly scrubbing them and leaving them aside whilst she scrubbed the others before she washed all of them at once. The plates sliding in and out of her hand one by one.

Earlier after Hyunjin left the table,

"What about MY approval?" Y/n's mother, Naeun, stormed at her husband. Annoyed by his actions. Da-hye lost her temper at that.

"Why would he need YOUR approval?" Da-hye asked, annoyed.

"I'm her mother, sweetie. That's how things should work" Naeun tried to smile it off.

"You were never a part of sister's life. How come you come home one day and decide you should be the one giving approvals?" Da-hye asked, the seriousness in her tone shocking everyone in the table. As young as she was, she had the brains to stand up if she felt anyone was mistreated.

Nauen tried to say something back, she opened her mouth but the words never came out.

"Da-hye! How dare you talk to your mother like tha--" Her father tried to scold her.

"If she was my mother, why doesn't she try being one for my sister aswell?" Da-hye cut her father off, over and Iverson again as they argued over the table. Seong just watched before standing up and leaving the scene which caused Da-hye to end her endless come backs.

"What a happy family we are" she scoffed, standing up and entering the kitchen, finding the two sharing giggles with Seong sitting on one of the stools, drinking grape juice.

"What's up with your loud voice?" Y/n turned behind her, eyes scanning the shorter who looked like she was on the verge of tears, her heart crumbling like a sheet of paper as her stomach twirled in annoyance.

"She's so annoying .." she whimpered, her throat aching as she held her sobs back.

"hye" Y/n called out, walking over to the shorter and pulling her to a hug. "You don't have to worry about me, just think about yourself." Y/n caressed the younger's hair.

"But--"

"It's not like I'm upset over it, I have so many people to care for me. Maybe, I'd be desperate for support if I still didn't have you and the rest of my friends but look at me." Y/n pulled Da-hye out of the hug, holding onto her shoulders. "I'm completely fine and it's only one single person whose against me. I'm not longer wishing to disappear, am I?" Y/n chuckled at her own words.

"Yeah.." Da-hye followed along, her voice trailing off as she glanced up at Y/n.

"Now, now. Instead of complaining, let's just sit and chat?" Hyunjin sighed, rubbing his temple before sitting down on the kitchen island, on one of the stools. Settling next to Seong.
