Chapter 60: "walk for me, baby"

March 20th, 18:23 PM

As days went by, Y/n found herself hanging out with Chaewon more than Hyunjin. Not knowing what he was upto.

"He's fine, he might be busy, you know?" Chaewon confronted the other who sat on the other side of the bed, crafting interior for her uni project.

"I doubt that, maybe he's losing interest" Y/n muttered to herself, biting her lips as she accidentally broke the prop because of shaking too much.

"Are you crazy? He's head over heels for you, idiot" Chaewon smacked the other in the head, pulling her hands back with a hiss before muttering "metal head.." to herself.

"If he was, he should've called by now" Y/n mumbled as he glued the interior into the cardboard box.

"Y/niee, don't worry about anything, you know how he is. He's working on cases right now" Chaewon tried to cheer the other up. Then, realization hit Y/n. Hyunjin had been trying yo bring his status up from a rookie attorney to a professional. "Right, gosh. I completely forgot about that" Y/n bit the sides of her cheek, sucking it in.

"Don't beat yourself up for it. You still have me" Chaewon smiled apologetically, her hands tucking in a strand of Y/n's hair that fell over her eyes briefly.

"Right.." Y/n's voice trailed off quietly before landing on her phone that buzzed at the corner. Chaewon's eyes lighting up as the caller ID clearly showed 'Love'

But Y/n didn't budge, even though she saw the screen. Her hand never reached for the phone nor did she bother. "Y/n? Hyunjin's calling" Chaewon looked at her confusingly.

"I know, but, what do I say when I pick up?" Y/n asked, her eyes glinting with hope. She had no idea on how to communicate with her feelings in this exact moment.

"You answer his questions or either ask him about his day, you dumbass" Chaewon scoffed before reaching for the phone and accepting the call before she shoved the phone in Y/n's hands. "Hu— what—"

"Love?"

Hyunjin called out, his voice making Y/n's stomach twirl ever so slightly.

"Hi" Y/n's voice came off hoarse before she cleared it quickly and Hyunjin chuckled at that.

"Bae, can you please come outside?" Hyunjin's obvious grin could be heard over the call as Y/n rushed over to the window of her room that was pointed outside as she peeked her head out just to see the taller staring up at her with a lily bouquet in his hands that he kept lower, along with two coffee cups. Y/n widened her eyes, quickly shoving her head back in as Chaewon giggled at the sight.

"I— sorry Chae, give me a minute" She hid her squeals behind that panicked look as Chaewon nodded in understanding as Y/n's loud footsteps could be heard over the phone call as she rushed downstairs before opening the door and standing there nonchalantly.

"What brings you here?" Y/n asked, fighting the guts to try and not fidget with anything since Hyunjin knew too well that she would do that whenever she was nervous.

"What doesn't bring me here? These lilies surely wanna see your pretty eyes" Hyunjin smiled, his eyes squinting as he handed the bouquet to Y/n who looked a bit hesitant but took it in anyway.

"Thanks .." Y/n smiled to herself as she took the flowers to her embrace. Her eyes trying best their best to not squint up immediately as Hyunjin swiftly moved his hands to her waist and tucked her against him, smiling down at her briefly.

"I missed you .." His chin tilted down as he gently took in the scent he had yearned for. His eyes relaxing as he finally had his hands wrapped around his lover.
