chapter 55: "back to the site"

March 14th 1:03 AM

"Fuck!" Y/n cussed as her feet slipped whilst they climbed up the hill to make it back to the campsite.

Hyunjin moved quickly, wrapping a tight hand Y/n as he pulled her hips against his. "You okay?" He quickly lit his flashlight to check up on Y/n.

"Yeah--, just a scratch I think" Y/n grunted as she got supported by Hyunjin whilst the others led the way back.

"Prince charming on his rescue" Felix teased earning a glare from Y/n however you couldn't really see it before Minho flashed the light to her face.

"Struck a nerve there" Felix raised an eyebrow before shutting up.

"I'll check it after we get to the tents, is that alright with you?" Hyunjin leaned down to whisper into Y/n's ears, causing her to flinch. "I can do it myself" she added as they kept on walking.

A few moments later they finally arrived back, the campsite silent and eery. The only ones being up were the two girls along with Jisung and Seong.

"Ya'll took your sweet time" Jisung stood up as the new water bottles were delivered next to the spare tent where they kept the supplies.

"Be happy we didn't make you carry all of these" Minho scoffed as he harshly threw them off his hands. His palm glistening red in front of the light of the fire.

"Aw is Minho hyung angry?" Jisung mocked Minho who was already in a pissy mood.

"Yeahh .. you don't wanna annoy his ass" Hyunjin squinted his eyes in a 'no-joke' shake before taking Y/n next to the bonfire and setting her on the log seats.

"We should get going then, see you in the tent Y/n" Chaewon cheered with a cheeky smile as her voice faded, her hands wrapped around Haewon's wrist as she dragged her in the tent to leave those two alone.

"Goodnight" Y/n's eyes flared up before turning her reaction towards Hyunjin who was knelt down in front of her, his hands lingering over Y/n's scratch that bled down her legs along with the small burn marks from the past.

"does it sting?" Hyunjin asked, looking up at Y/n who got flustered by sudden eye contact.

"no ..?" She lied, her voice fading off as Hyunjin scoffed. "Liar" he whispered before grabbing the medic kit and taking a cotton swab out before rubbing in alcohol.

His fingers pressed away from the lid of small bottle as the cotton was gently pressed against Y/n's scratch. The sudden sting caused her to flinch but keep silent. "Does this not hurt as well?" Hyunjin asked, the smirk in his tone too obvious.

"Shut up" Y/n muttered under her breath before Hyunjin covered the scar with a bandaid. "There we go" he pat the spot before looking up at Y/n for a reaction. "Thank you" She checked the bandaid out, her eyes glistening at how well Hyunjin took care of it. "What was that?" Hyunjin teased, lending his ears out for another 'thank you'

"Once is enough" Y/n rolled her eyes before standing up and walking past Hyunjin to grab some beer.

"Seong, shouldn't you be in bed?" She asked as she walked back, handing Hyunjin one of the two beers.

"Oh-- right" he smiled awkwardly, stumbling up as he scrambled around before finally heading back into his tent that he shared with Lucas.

Y/n smiled warmly at how clumsy the boy was, her fingers pulling on the ring lid harshly as it clicked open.

"Yikes, I don't wanna deal with your drunk ass" Hyunjin groaned before pulling his own open.

"I'm not going to drink that much" Y/n rolled her eyes with a long sigh.
