Wei Ying had spent three days at Lan Enterprises, balancing mornings at the company with afternoons at university. Jiang Cheng stayed behind to continue his internship while Wei Ying left with his driver, Ken, to the university.

The unpleasant receptionist from Wei Ying's first day was replaced by a professional woman. Wei Ying assumed the man had been fired, unaware that Lan Wangji himself had taken action to ensure the man left the company-and the city-for insulting Wei Ying. To Wangji, such disrespect toward his "bunny" was unacceptable.

Wei Ying often shared updates with Lan Zhan, including how he lied to Wangji about being married, and how the CEO's recent kindness confused him. Revenge, he admitted, that he is confused about it, as sudden change of behavior, anyway his research project took precedence.

Wangji, on the other hand, found joy in Wei Ying's progress. Jingyi ensured Wei Ying was comfortable. Furthermore employees grew curious about Wangji's frequent department visits. Though seemingly monitoring operations, his eyes always sought Wei Ying.

Now, currently, Wangji was observing Wei Ying, who sat by a window, his face lit by sunlight. The sight of Wei Ying scribbling notes with intense focus brought a rare smile to Wangji's face. He returned an employee's file with a curt comment before approaching Wei Ying.

"I hope you are doing well now," Wangji said softly into his ears, startling Wei Ying, who turned to face him.

"Mr. Lan?" Wei Ying asked, his voice laced with surprise.

"I noticed you were focused. I didn't mean to disturb you," Wangji replied calmly standing properly.

Wei Ying laughed nervously. "No, you didn't... I was just surprised."

"Good," Wangji said, his gaze lingering momentarily. "If you need anything, let me know."

Wei Ying nodded, puzzled by Wangji's attentiveness. Moments later, Jingyi brought drink at Wangji's request, ensuring Wei Ying's comfort.

Returning to his cabin, Wangji texted Wei Ying.

Lan Zhan:
Hey, love!❤

Wei Ying:
Hey, Boyfie.❤

Lan Zhan:
What are you doing?

Wei Ying:
I am in company feeling very bore.😶
Watching this robotic yet, cartoon like people working.👾

Lan Zhan:

but that's how cooperate sector works.

Wei Ying:
Yeh true!🙄

Lan Zhan:
Have you eaten anything?

Wei Ying:
Nope.

Lan Zhan:
Why? You should eat on time.

Wei Ying:
Today I woke up late so breakfast skipped. 🙂

You must be eating first, bun. Aren't you hungry?

Wei Ying:
I'm starving, but Huisang's picking me up, so I'll grab something on the way to university.

Lan Zhan:

Lan Zhan ended the chat, but a plan brewed in his mind. Calling Huisang, he talk something.

As cut the call he stood up and said, "let's get you eat, Wei Ying."

Later, as finishing the work, Wei Ying headed toward the lift, he tossed an empty bottle of drink into the trash. As the lift doors opened, he froze-Lan Wangji stood inside. They both stared at each other for moment. Wei Ying wanted to look away but his body was not listening. He was staring at Wangji as well.
