"And students, this is how Maslow's theory outlines the hierarchy of human needs at every stage of our lives," Xichen explained, his voice calm yet engaging as he stood at the front of the classroom. The lecture hall was packed, with students hanging onto his every word—or rather, his good looks. Xichen's charisma was undeniable, drawing both admiration and distraction, as many students found themselves staring dreamily at their handsome professor rather than focusing on the lecture.

Amid the crowd, Wei Wuxian sat in the front row with Huaisang, diligently jotting down notes. Unlike many of his classmates, he paid full attention, his brows occasionally furrowing in thought. He was always eager to grasp new concepts, his mind constantly working to connect theories with real-life applications. Huaisang, beside him, alternated between copying notes and doodling in his notebook, occasionally glancing up with a half-hearted interest.

"I hope you all understand this concept," Xichen continued, scanning the room with a friendly yet firm gaze. "And one more thing—I need to inform you all that there will be a class test next week."

The announcement was met with a collective groan, students slumping in their seats and whispering complaints to one another. A few overly dramatic ones even banged their heads lightly against their desks in protest.

"Hey, calm down," Xichen chuckled, raising a hand to quiet the murmurs. "This test is just a practice one, a chance for you all to gauge your understanding of the material. It's not meant to stress you out, so please use it as an opportunity to prepare and pay attention during lectures."

Wuxian couldn't help but smirk at his classmates' exaggerated reactions. A practice test was nothing compared to the challenges he had faced in life, and he found the overreactions amusing. He leaned over to Huaisang and whispered, "You’d think they were being sent to the gallows instead of a simple practice test."

Huaisang chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Yeah, it’s like they’ve never had a surprise in their lives. I mean, it’s not like the professor is asking us to climb a mountain."

Xichen’s lecture concluded, and the classroom quickly filled with the sound of students chattering among themselves. It had only been a week since college started, and everyone was still adjusting to the new semester’s rhythm of daily lectures and assignments.

As the students began packing up their things, Xichen approached Wei Wuxian. "I know this might be out of line for me to ask," Xichen began hesitantly, "but Wuxian, are you still angry with my brother?" His tone was sincere, and a hint of worry flickered in his eyes. "I want to apologize on his behalf once again."

Wuxian smiled politely, though there was a touch of stubbornness in his eyes. "Professor Xichen, please, there’s no need for you to apologize. You’re not at fault here. As for your brother, yes, I’m still quite angry with him, but don’t worry, it won’t cause any problems for you." With a small nod, Wuxian asked to take his leave, and he and Huaisang headed out together—it was already lunchtime.

It had been seven days since the incident between Wuxian and Lan Wangji on the first day of college, but the tension still lingered.

On the other side of things, Lan Zhan and Wei Ying had grown closer over the past week, chatting almost daily. Wuxian shared bits of his life with Lan Zhan, often recounting the mischievous pranks he pulled on friends and family alike just for fun. Through their conversations, Lan Zhan learned that Wuxian was a lovable brat—mischievous yet sweet, and kind at heart.

Lan Zhan’s secretary even noticed that he smiled more often these days, a rare sight for the usually stoic CEO. Although Lan Zhan couldn’t fully understand this new feeling blossoming within him, he knew one thing for sure: talking to Wei Ying was his comfort zone. Whenever the pressures of work and life weighed heavily on him, a conversation with Wei Ying made everything seem lighter.
