Wei Ying was accustomed to being noticed-his looks and smartness often caught people's attention. Yet, he always chose to stay out of the spotlight. But today was different. For some reason, he had become the talk of the entire university.

As he entered the classroom, he noticed a group of girls in the corner whispering and stealing glances at him. Normally, he wouldn't have cared, but the unusual buzz around him today felt irritating.

Ignoring the stares and murmurs, Wei Ying headed straight to his seat next to Huisang. Without greeting his friend-who was casually listening to music with his earbuds on-Wei Ying opened his book and started reading, hoping to lose himself in its pages and block out the attention.

Nie Huisang noticed Wei Ying's presence beside him and immediately pulled out his earbuds. "Hey, bro!" he greeted cheerfully.

Wei Ying shot him a glare. "Don't bro me, Sang. All this unwanted attention I'm getting is because of you!"

Huisang blinked, taken aback. "Whoa, whoa! What happened? What did I do?" he asked defensively, raising his hands as if warding off an attack.

"You, my stupid friend," Wei Ying began, jabbing a finger in Huisang's direction, "canceled the plan to pick me up! And because of that, this happened."

"Uh... what exactly happened?" Huisang asked, genuinely confused.

Wei Ying sighed dramatically. "If you hadn't canceled, Lan Wangji wouldn't have had to drop me here in his fancy, slick red Lamborghini! Now, thanks to that, everyone on campus is whispering about me like I'm some kind of celebrity. It's driving me crazy!"

Huisang's eyes widened before a slow grin spread across his face. "Wait, wait. You mean Lan Wangji-the Lan Wangji-dropped you off here in his favorite Lamborghini?! Like I mean I heard it that it's his most favorite vehicle. You are damm lucky."

Wei Ying rolled his eyes. "Yes, that's exactly what I said. And now everyone is talking about it like it's some big deal!"

Huisang chuckled, clearly enjoying the situation. "Well, bro, I hate to break it to you, but you are kind of a big deal now. Riding with the China's  heartthrob CEO in his luxury car? No wonder everyone's curious!"

Wei Ying groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I just wanted a normal day, Sang. Just one normal day!"

Nie Huisang didn’t say anything, only silently chuckled at his friend’s misery.

After finishing their lesson, the two of them headed toward the library to prepare for their upcoming class test.

Wei Ying could still feel the eyes of the campus students on him, the whispers and glances following him wherever he went. He did his best to ignore it—until a girl suddenly stepped in front of them, blocking their path.

She was wearing a crop top and a skirt, her hair tied in a high ponytail, with heavy makeup accentuating her sharp features and a bold, dark lipstick drawing attention to her smirking lips. She was undeniably beautiful, the kind of girl every boy on campus wanted to date. But her reputation preceded her—she was greedy and a known gold digger, only dating boys with deep pockets.

She had even tried to seduce Jiang Cheng once, but he had rejected her without hesitation. Undeterred, she simply shifted her focus to a new target—it was just a game to her.

The girl was none other than Zhai Qionglin, an unspoken enemy of Huisang’s. She was his ex from their school days in the UK, a relationship that had ended disastrously when she cheated on him with a wealthier boy.

“What do you want, Zhai Qionglin? Move aside; we’re on our way to the library,” Huisang said sharply, grabbing Wei Ying’s hand and trying to steer him away.
