It was almost evening when Wei Ying found himself waking up. He shifted a little before fully opening his eyes. He realized he was lying on top of someone’s chest. At first, he was confused, but then he remembered—he was still in Wangji’s room. To be exact, in his arms, sleeping like this.
Slowly, he adjusted himself and looked up. He saw a pair of golden eyes gazing at him with deep adoration. The intensity of the gaze made him feel shy, as if he was being treasured beyond words.
Lan Zhan had woken up earlier, but he hadn’t moved. He simply lay there, watching his beautiful bunny sleep peacefully in his arms. Seeing Wei Ying like this confirmed that it wasn’t a dream—Wei Ying was really here, his face soft and relaxed, his breath steady.
As Wei Ying stirred, Lan Zhan knew he was finally waking up. And now, seeing the shy expression on Wei Ying’s face made his heartbeat skip a bit.
“Uh… you’re awake,” Wei Ying mumbled, quickly looking away, his fingers unconsciously gripping the fabric of Lan Zhan’s shirt.
Lan Zhan hummed in response, his arms tightening just a little around Wei Ying, as if making sure he wouldn’t disappear again. “Mn. For a while now.”
Wei Ying swallowed, suddenly feeling self-conscious. “And you just let me sleep on you like this?”
Lan Zhan’s lips curved into a small smile. “You were tired.”
Wei Ying bit his lip, his heart thudding against his ribs. He wasn’t sure what to say, especially when Lan Zhan was looking at him like that—as if he was the most precious thing in the world. It was overwhelming, but at the same time… it felt right.
Still, his stubbornness kicked in. He quickly sat up, putting a little distance between them. “I—I just fell asleep! Don’t think too much about it,” he said, rubbing his warm face.
Lan Zhan simply sat up as well, his expression calm but unwavering. “I won’t, if you don’t.”
Wei Ying groaned, knowing full well that Lan Zhan was teasing him in his own subtle way. “Ugh, forget it. Don't forget I am still mad at you for lying.” He was about to get off the bed when suddenly, a soft tug on his wrist stopped him.
“Wei Ying.”
He turned back, finding Lan Zhan staring at him seriously now. “Will you… stay?”
Wei Ying’s breath caught in his throat. There was no demand in Lan Zhan’s voice, just quiet, vulnerable hope. It made something in his heart ache.
He looked away for a moment, his fingers tightening into fists before he let out a sigh. “…For a little while.”
He sat beside Lan Zhan properly "and you need to explain to me."
"I will do." Lan Zhan said. "I will not hide anything from you."
"Promise?" Wei Ying asked with innocent face looking at Lan Zhan.
"Promise. Ask me anything." Lan Zhan said with assurance. "I will do anything for your forgiveness."
"Did you know from the start that it was me messaging you?" Wei Ying asked.
"No," Lan Zhan replied immediately. "I had no idea who you were back then. To be honest, I thought you were just some random kid playing pranks."
"Umm, okay." Wei Ying nodded. "Then, when we met at your brother's office… you behaved… umm…" He hesitated, looking down, unsure of how to put it into words.
"No, no, I'm really sorry for that," Wangji quickly said, noticing the conflicted expression on his bunny’s face. "Wei Ying, let me be honest with you. I admit that I was a bit of a jerk, but I never did anything without consent. When I saw you for the first time, you immediately caught my attention. And why wouldn’t you? You're really pretty and beautiful. I flirted with you because, at that time, I… umm… I wanted to sleep with you." He looked ashamed of his past behavior.
