[Cyno's POV]

"Quick! A wave is coming up!" Ainsley pulled me towards the ocean, excited to get in the water.

"Careful there!" I uttered as she almost fell over into the water.

"I should be fine~" She was more cautious about getting in the water as before, but still reckless nonetheless.

"Really, watch out. I don't want you getting hurt." I paced up to catch up with her.

"Hurry up, loser! There's a huge wave coming up!" Ainsley yelled from meters away from me.

I quickened my steps and caught up with her. "Why do you always call me names?"

"So do you." Ainsley shrugged just as a wave hit our legs. I instinctively held onto her as the water receded.

"I call you darling, that sounds lovely." I pointed out.

"And I call you a loser. My loser that I love." She giggled at her own words. "But really, I don't really like pet names."

"You have a nickname for everyone though?" The weirdest one she made was 'Weed Man' for Tighnari since he liked plants.

"Nicknames are original and fun." She said as another wave grazed our feet. "Pet names aren't. Darling doesn't always equal me, but big tiddie daddy can only be Al Haitham."

"His chest isn't that big." I rolled my eyes, because they actually were. But I wasn't going to admit that he's buff.

"Sure, lie to yourself." Ainsley went on forward to get deeper into the water and I followed. "Come to think of it, I still haven't given you one have I?"

"No, and I'm hurt." I was the only person in Ainsley's life that hasn't gotten a nickname. Even Alhaitham and his senseless ass got one.

"Aww, he's pouting~" Ainsley teasingly squeezed my cheeks while I looked at her with a why-am-i-dating-you look.

"Don't worry, I'll give you one too." She chuckled as she finished saying it, probably because of the instant glow on my face as she did.

She looked back to the water, her lips pursed indicating that she was on thinking mode.

"How about dwarf? You are pretty short-" Ainsley began explaining.

"No!" My eyes widened at how loud I was to disapprove of her suggestion. "Besides, I'm above average height."

"No, you're not."

"I am taller than you for starters, so you can't just say that."

"Excuse me?" Ainsley frowned. "Mind you, I'm still growing! One day, I will be so tall that I will be the first to know when it rains."

There were stars in her eyes, she really believed that would happen.

"Anyways, I can't think of anything else!" Ainsley complained. "Your name is already nickname sized so I can't even break it apart."

"Fine, I don't want one anymore." I honestly didn't want to be the only one who doesn't have a special name given by Ainsley.

"No, now I feel bad~ Maybe I'll think of a better one if you tell me just what your name means?" She tugged at my shirt, shaking me for an answer.
