"Ha!" I gasped, searching for air to breathe.
Red, red, and red. Why everything around me is red?!
My back was injured, and its skin burned me painfully. Even my body agreed that I should rest in a hospital rather than in a place full of fire.
Did I fail?
I shook my head, denying as there's still hope for me. While blinded by its ash and smoke, I heard someone bawling in this room.
"Viona! Viona! Where are you?!
I groaned with pain in my eyes, searching where the voice coming from. When my ears semi-fully got its hearing back, the voice became more recognizable.
"Don't leave me alone!"
Is that, Natasha?
My eyes searched for her in front, but I couldn't find her.
Oh no. No. Where is she?!
Terrified, I stood up hastily. It stung my legs and shoulder. Yet, my mind was too busy for caring about that.
Did she get blasted off by the explosion? Is she hurt? I need to find her quick!
I saw something that gleamed in the middle of the flame. It was a protective barrier made by magic, the one I always use for emergencies. My heart was relieved to see her curled up in the barrier as I approached it. I knocked on the barrier slowly to make her notice me without scaring her.
"Natasha? It's me, Viona."
She paused her shivering and casted a glance behind her, "Viona?"
"Yes, it's me."
Her eyes looked up and down while she sat up with teary eyes. "Viona!"
She jumped for a hug but got blocked by my barrier. "Ouch! What is this?"
"Sorry," I kneeled and made it disappear quickly, "it was my magic barrier."
"Magic?!" Her blue eyes almost went out of her eyes. "You can do magic like a wizard in the story, Viona?"
"Perhaps," I replied leisurely, "you want to see it, Natasha?"
"I want to see it!"
"That's the spirit," I said as I picked her up and asked, "So, which spell do you want me to cast first?"
"Hmm. Then, can you change your clothes?" she pleaded to me with a smile, "The wizard in the book did that before he sealed the demon away and it was so cool. I wish I could see it in real life."
"You mean... Transfiguration Magic?"
"Yes!" she nodded.
I was dumbfounded and inquired, "Why? Is there any reason besides the wizard's story?"
Natasha tilted while smiling.
"Well... It's because... You're half naked right now."
Surprised by what she just said, my eyes looked down and realized that my clothes were shattered with many holes. She was right, I need to change my clothes. It's almost like I wore them because there have been no clothes in my wardrobe for years.
Haa... Even though, I wore different clothes on purpose to avoid the same thing happened...
I sighed in defeat and said, "Thank you for telling me, Natasha."
"You're welcome, Viona."
I silently bid goodbye to it and cast a spell. A sparkling light came out of my finger, then it surrounded me. With a flick of my finger, it exploded like a firework, and - there you have it!
The damaged attires changed into brand new clothes. It was my spare witch uniform that I saved in my dimension storage. Fortunately, nothing has changed. Even my blue pointed hat is still in good condition. Without further ado, I focused on how to get Natasha out now. She's still clapping her little hand with amusement.
I'm glad my quick magic show was able to divert her attention.
After putting a protective charm on Natasha, I took her out of the room while carefully avoiding the fire with ashes. Step by step, I approached the doorknob and twisted it after putting defensive charm on my hand. My hand was burned by the hot metal as I glanced below me.
Her small hand held my shoulder while she sucking her other thumb. The blue eyes gazed at me innocently, a sign that she didn't know what was happening around us. Made me braving myself to not minding my burning hands.
It's still hurt, but...
My mouth curled up as the door was opened for us.
I don't mind to dothis over and over again for all of you...
