I panted while looking to where Matron was before. It's been a long time that I used this teleportation skill more than my limit. My heartbeat fastened as the blood almost rising into a waterfall. Then, a voice made me turning my head.
"Viona, what did you do?" Trix hurriedly came closer while their silver eyes widened, "don't tell me you use fourth tier teleportation?!"
"I already told you shut up, didn't I?" My head felt heavy as I growled, "and could you don't come closer? I pu-put something on the gro-ground, it will e-explode if you step it!"
Their steps stopped immediately. I sighed in relief that my bluff was working for now. It's enough time for me to gather my strength and mana before the last confrontation. Even though my legs couldn't stand without being wobbly, the anger inside me made it clear that they wouldn't give up the chance to kick some sense on someone right now.
Speaking of them, the silver eyes were still watching every move of mine. The gazes made me uncomfortable, unlike the usual warmth that I loved. Feeling uneasy, I walked backward to avoid them. Slowly, I kept using healing spell on my legs, hoping to get me move more easily. After feeling much better, my hands opened-closed to check my readiness. While nodding my head, I gripped them one last time.
I'm ready.
With great determination, I pulled out my other spare hat from dimension space and wore it as I pointed my finger toward them. Trix's expression changed - maybe because they wasn't expecting me to fight them in this condition. The devil's pale lips trembled as they looked down, gripping their hands until there's black blood bleeding from them.
"Viona, why are you still adamant to side with Melissa?" They gritted their teeth, "I told you that her wish was the one that lead us to this situation!"
I snickered as I shot a light bullet at them which, unfortunately, it could only graze a slight of the pale cheek and their silver hairs. "So? What about you? I bet you're delighted that you could fool me this long, Trix."
The devil stunned as they trembled, "No... It's not like that, Viona. I just-"
"Then," I bit back as l pounced, grabbing their dress and made them closer with my hand. "Tell me, Trix. Was Matron one of the maids that served your 'parents' before they died?"
The silver eyes widened while I looking down on them. I tightened my grip, trying to intimidate them even further. Shortly, they slightly wavered, indicating it was a yes.
Without losing my momentum, I asked them again. "Trix, were your 'parents' the former contract holders of yours before Matron?"
Their eyes shifted again. Confirming that it's their answer, I stepped back as my hand pushed them away from me. My hand rubbed the long hairs to obtain the last sanity I could get. There's a line in the magic book that Devils doesn't like people who is sane in difficult situation. It's usually the people who aren't desperate to take the deal from them, that's why they hated them.
Honestly, I'm not exactly in the right mind either but... I rather be hopeless than taking the risk of dealing with the devils. But, there's one thing I made sure of...
"Trix, what is Matron's wish?"
"Why are you asking me?" Their pale lips smiled a little as the silver eyes glistening. "You already knew from the depth of your heart."
The silver haired devil's tears fell one by one. It's their cry for the second time in front of me. Strangely, the sight of it made my anger slowly dissipating. Yet, even though there's an urge to wipe theirs, my hand was holding back to do it. I sighed in relief as my mouth curling upward bitterly.
That was a sign for me to let go of this stupid feeling of mine that already past the due.
Suddenly, there's an idea that made me making the plan more quickly. Seeing the tears slowing down, I took a breath and released it as my finger aimed at them. "Trix, why don't you and me engage in a battle?"
The silver eyes were surprised that they immediately shook their head, "no. I refuse... You're not even in the good condition, Vi– "
I blasted off the light bullet at them. Unfortunately, it passed them vividly. I don't know if they're excel at dodging attack or not, but my attack surely didn't hurt them. Nonetheless, it could be a warning for that I'm still a danger to them.
"Don't underestimate me, Trix." I aimed at the middle of their chest while smiling smugly, "I'm not that naïve girl anymore!"
