After four words coming out from my mouth, the one who was grabbed by their neck turned their head toward me.

"Viona... Run..."

My eyes widened while the jaws of mine almost screaming out of fear.

That was Matron's voice. Why is she here? Wasn't she supposed to be with the other children?? Oh no! I need to save her!

The black claw tightened its grip. Seeing that, my feet quickly charged toward their head. Unfortunately, before I could reach their face, they grabbed my ankle and threw me against a nearby wall. After being slammed to the hard wall, I could feel the iron taste filling in my mouth.

Before I catch my breath, Matron was already thrown to the other side of the wall. I instantly used the last mana I had on both of my legs to jump toward her. Luckily, I got there first and shielded her from hitting the wall. The impact made me groaning in pain. It's hurt so much that I kept stumbling when I stood up on my feet. Perhaps, some of my bones already broken.

"Viona! Are you okay?!"

Matron held me in her arms. My eyes gazed at her with blurry vision. It's hard to see, but I could hear her rambling through the noise. There were water droplets falling to my cheeks.

Ah. Matron... She's worrying about me again... Even though, her body has more bruises than mine...

"I'm fine..." I nodded painfully, "how about you, Madame?"

"Don't worry about me, Viona! You –"

Her scolding stopped when I switched our position and made a magic barrier around us. A large boulder that coming to our way turned into pieces as it hit the barrier. Relieved that I was on time, my legs collapsed on the ground once more.

Matron caught me and let me rest on her lap. She then wiped bloods and sweats from my face with her handkerchief. Thank goodness, my barrier could hold up for thirty minutes. I could rest for a bit while still keeping vigilance to my surrounding.

Their attacks stopped after several minutes. I don't know why they did that, but their gazes still watching on me - As if they observing every move I did and would do in this situation.

I leaned on Matron's stomach while she's patting my head. It was comforting, yet the taste of iron in my mouth disturbed this peace a little. Matron didn't say anything, which also kind of bother me. When I thought this silent would be forever, Matron sighed as she tidied up her grey hairs.

"Why didn't you listen to me, Viona? Didn't I told you to run away from here?"

I shrugged, answering her questions as my mouth still tasted awful. It seemed that my answers got through of her as she stopped talked any further. Then, I closed my eyes for a while. The barrier slowly became thinner and thinner. I sit up to get ready of upcoming attacks. Just like what I feared, a big boulder approached us very fast that I almost missed it. Luckily, my hand halted the boulder and broke into pieces fast enough that I didn't feel any pain. The blurry sight came to haunt me again.

Suddenly, Matron moved my body backwards. A black fireball passed by in front my eyes, Matron had saved me from the burning attacks.

"Thank you, Madame."

"You're welcome," she sighed in relief as her arms covered me, "but... You really need to know your limit. I heard from Ly- Nanny that you were passed out this morning. Just... Leave me here and save yourself, Viona."

"What about you, Madame?" I clutched her sleeves weakly, "how could I leave you alone here?"

"It's okay," She clenched her fist while smiling, "I will only clean my own mess here. You need to go now, Viona."
