We're at a cozy restaurant by the beach, the gentle waves providing a perfect backdrop.

Jungkook has surprised me with a massive lobster for breakfast.

"It's so heavy for breakfast," I say, eyeing the lobster. But deep down, I can't deny I have the appetite for it.

The fried rice on my plate is accompanied by not one but two lobsters. Jungkook, ever attentive, is helping me with one of them.

"Enjoy, babe," he says with a smile, placing the lobster on my plate before turning back to his bowl of noodles.

I notice his bowl—noodles topped with a barely boiled, golden-yellow egg. The way the egg gleams, soft and rich, makes me swallow hard. It looks so creamy, I imagine it melting in my mouth.

Before I know it, I'm leaning in, staring at that egg like it holds the answers to life.

Our eyes meet when I realize how close my face is to his bowl. Embarrassed, I sit back, trying to play it cool.

Without a word, Jungkook picks up the egg and places it on my plate.

"Oh, you didn't have to," I say, though my stomach is practically cheering.

"You don't want it?" he teases, about to take it back with his chopsticks.

I quickly block him with mine, my eyes wide. "You gave it to me! Leave it alone."

He scoffs, his laughter warm and teasing.

I pop the egg, letting the golden yolk mix with my fried rice. Just the sight of it is heavenly. Taking a spoonful, I close my eyes, savoring the rich, creamy flavor.

When I open my eyes, I find Jungkook watching me intently, his gaze unwavering.

So damn pretty, he thinks, captivated. The same inexplicable vibe that drew him to her from the start fills the moment again.

"Babe, I think I'm crazy," Jungkook suddenly says.

I raise an eyebrow. "Since when weren't you?"

He bites his lip slightly, then laughs. "Babe, don't tease me," he says, leaning in closer.

"I'm not teasing. I'm being serious," I reply, but I lean back instinctively as he inches closer.

Suddenly, his hand is on my back. "Careful. Sit properly, or you might hurt yourself," he murmurs.

"Oh, but you're way too close," I protest.

"Since when were we not?" he fires back, mirroring my earlier words.

I almost laugh, "Seriously, Jungkook?"

He just grins, his eyes sparkling as if he's won this little exchange.

I almost laugh. "Seriously, Jungkook?"

He just grins, his eyes sparkling as if he's won some unspoken contest.

Without warning, he leans in and gives me a quick peck on the lips.

It's so sudden, so unexpected, that by the time I react, he's already resumed eating like nothing happened.

I stare at him.

What's wrong with him?

Maybe it's because we haven't had any real physical connection since the whole incident—when I suspected him of cheating on me.

So... does he miss me?

A small grin tugs at my lips, but I suppress it.

No, it's not certain, is it?
