"Y/N, are you crying? Please, don't cry," Jin's voice is gentle, but there's a strain behind it.

"What is your intention, Jin?" I ask, my frustration barely contained.

"Intention? After everything I've said? I'm at my limit, Y/N. Just because you've been surrounded by people with cruel intentions your whole life doesn't mean I'm one of them. Please, Y/N, how can you trust him over your own brother? How can you forgive him for killing your foster mother?"

"Who said I forgave him?" My voice cracks.

"Then why are you still with him?" Jin's question hangs in the air like a noose.

I fall silent, my lips pressed tight as if holding back the truth. I have no answer.

"You're being manipulated, Y/N. It's not your fault, but it isn't too late to change things. Even without Taehyung, you still have your mother. And your son."

I close my eyes, pinching them shut to block the wave of emotion that threatens to break me. Taehyung. He's alive. But what if I'm already too late to act?

Fear claws at my chest, making my body tremble.

"Y/N? Are you still there?" Jin's voice breaks through, soft and worried. "Are you okay?"

I end the call abruptly. I can't do this anymore.

Especially not after he mentioned my mother's death.

I've worked so hard to bury those memories, to push them deep enough that they can't hurt me.

Have I been living in denial just to stay with Jungkook?

My chest tightens, and I clutch at it, a sharp ache spreading through me. I don't know anymore. I'm terrified of my own thoughts, my own heart.

A soft voice pulls me back. Seol.

I pause mid-sob and look at him. My baby. His wide, innocent eyes pierce straight through the chaos in my mind.

He shouldn't be caught in this mess. He doesn't deserve it.

"God," I whisper, my voice trembling. "Please, save him. Save him from us."

I turn my head away, unable to bear the weight of his gaze. My mind feels like it's unraveling, threads of sanity slipping through my fingers.

I'm scared—of Jungkook, of Jin, but mostly of myself.

Seol needs someone steady, someone who can shield him from this madness.

I can't be that person right now. Not like this.

I need to take him to his babysitter, who's somewhere in the mansion. I have to step away—for his sake, and mine. My emotions are a storm, and I'm ashamaed of myself.

Jungkook sits at the head of the table in the meeting room, his sharp gaze sweeping over the director chiefs and external stakeholders lined up on either side of him.

"Anything to say?" he asks, his tone calm yet commanding.

The room falls silent. A few heads shake, and someone mutters a faint, "Nothing, sir," barely audible in the heavy quiet.

"Alright, I'm off," Jungkook says, uncrossing his legs as he stands. Without waiting for a response, he strides toward the door, his personal assistant following closely behind.

Yunjin, who has been watching him intently throughout the meeting, seizes the moment. As soon as Jungkook leaves the room, she quickly rises and hurries after him down the hall.

"Oppa!" she calls, her voice echoing in the corridor.

Jungkook stops in his tracks and turns slightly, acknowledging her with a cold, unreadable expression.
