"Jin, Jin, Jin," Jungkook mutters, irritation lacing his deep voice. His dark eyes fixate on Jungjae, who stands rigid beside him, hands clasped behind his back like a soldier awaiting orders.
Jungjae immediately lowers his head. "I apologize, Master. There is no sign, no trace."
Jungkook exhales sharply, dragging a hand through his jet-black hair. His jaw clenches. "No trace?". His tone is mocking, disbelieving. "A ghost with no footprints—yet he dares to lurk in my shadow. You expect me to believe that a man who whispers my name like a prayer has no past?".
Jungjae remains silent, awaiting the inevitable storm.
Jungkook leans back in his chair, the dim light casting sharp angles on his face. His instincts scream that Jin is no ordinary enemy. The familiarity in his presence unsettles him, gnaws at the edges of his mind. If his gut is right, Jin isn't just a name—he's a threat. A loose end from the past waiting to tighten around his throat.
And Jungkook never leaves loose ends.
His eyes darken at the thought. "Wedding ceremony."
Jungjae glances up. "Master?"
Jungkook's fingers drum against the polished wood of his desk. His thoughts have been consumed by Y/N more than ever, especially after that damn meeting with Haru. The way she laughed so easily, so freely—it made his blood boil. She doesn't belong anywhere else but at his side.
Last time, their marriage was an obligation, a necessity to bind her to him. But now? Now, it's different. He doesn't just want her in name. He wants her under him, beside him, in every possible way. And he wants her to understand it, to feel it.
But making it public? Not yet. Not while Jin remains a shadow.
That guy could use the ceremony day as his perfect day for something.
A plan takes shape in his mind, sharp and precise. His lips curve into a slow, lethal smirk. "A closed wedding ceremony."
Jungjae stiffens. "A remarriage?"
Jungkook nods. "This time, she'll vow herself to me again—on her own. No force, no interference. Just her, standing before her God, saying my name as her choice."
She always clung to her faith. Fine. He'd use it to bind her to him again.
In his mind, he has already done enough to ease the grievances she constantly throws at him—like her damn graduation. He personally secured her legitimate certificate, wiping away that excuse.—
And yet, even as he smooths one wrinkle, another appears. Her complaints never seem to end. Like her so-called suffering people.
But Jungkook doesn't care about them.
And he never will.
His only concern is her.
And if there is any regret in his heart, it isn't for the damage he has caused. It is only because she was hurt. No one else matters.
"When do you want to proceed, Master?"
"She's Catholic. You tell me."
Jungjae nods, ever efficient. "Saturday afternoons are most common for Catholic weddings. Around 2:00 PM."
"Then make it happen."
"Understood."
Jungkook leans forward, his voice a low command. "Prepare another pair of rings."
